Software Electronics Update

Got asked by dealer if they could have my car for a bit to apply a software electronics update, anyone any idea what this could be?

who know doesn't seem to have fixed or broken anything, or wiped my vcds change, had thought it may have fixed the dipping mirror but alas no!

"On 02.04.2014 VW launched action number 45D4 for 1.2 tsi and 1.4 tsi Golf 7 which is about upgrading the software in the ECU (engine management software), plus recoding and updating computers in the front doors (related to confort computers responsible for opening and closing doors and windows) and the EPB (electronic parking brakes, including dissengagement of Auto Hold); there is also some more recoding for the GTI 2.0tfsi models

On 08.04.2014 VW launched action number 34F6 for all Golf 7 equipped with DSG 7, this action number was launched in 2013 for other DSG 7 cars mostly Jetta; this action (close to a recall but not exactly, as the factory ask dealerships to do this actions on the first check in of the car and not immediately) is about changing the oil in the DSG 7 with a mineral oil that has an additive in order not to corrode the gearbox metal, which leads to short circuits and therefore disconnection of the gearbox; in addition to changing oil (which is not as simple as changing motor oil), there is a software update for the DSG7"

2013 picked up May last year.

OK I have a 1.2TSi +DSG MY 2014 (Oct 2013) and I have at last found out that it is not affected by the DSG oil recall. Also not been told that I need a software update.
Is your TSI a manual?

Up here we drink Whisky not the American variety you mention, so watch it.
