Some advice please...!

Hi all,

I thought I'd come on here and seek your opinions and advice...

I have two options for my LCR 2004 which I've owned with great pride and joy, but perhaps it's time to part ways, but I'm stuck between which option to take.

I can sell it as it is with the following things that need doing -

New Windscreen, 8-10" crack along the passenger side front
Requires Front Brakes & Discs
2 New Coilpacks required
Scuff on the rear bumper - about 5-6" long
Slight rust appearing between drivers door and front wing
MOT ran out last month - It's been sat in the garage for a few weeks now as I have use of a company car

Someone has offered in the region of £1300-£1400 as it is...

My question, would you restore it and sell it on, if so, what sort of price/interest would I expect, OR sell it to the above offer exactly as it is...

Sad to see it go, but it'll just sit in the garage and waste it's life away...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...!

Probably best to sell. You could spend a grand on it just to recoup £2500 so not worth it in my opinion

I'm planning on spending about £170 on a new windscreen, Brakes - c£200, paint touch up/repair I'll be doing myself so that's a cost to a minimum... Coilpacks - £40 for a new pair

Would you still look to sell without restoring?

if its as clean as you say . and runs well. id put the money into it and try get the 2200/2500 unless you stuck for quick cash

Is there likely to be any other surprises on the MOT if you put it through? It's going to be worth more with an MOT.

I am in same situation my LC is gathering dust but just doing an odd repair here or there so I can get an MOT on it to enable a sale - don't want to get rid of it however it's taking up space.

Nothing else needs doing for the MOT, all bushes were replaced in the summer, top mounts need replacing (Although they're Powerflex and less than a year old!) and of course the front brakes.

Had the usual whining from the gearbox, but that's been sorted now, as good as new.

I guess if I sell as it is for about £1300 I'll really be doing myself out wouldn't I?
Not strapped for cash, just wanted a general feel for what others see the car's value at if I was to sort the minor details.

Can't you get the windscreen replaced by the insurance company or have you cancelled it now?

I cancelled the insurance, parked it up in the garage as I received a company car, it developed a stress crack after that... Bad timing or what!

Anyone know of a decent cheap company who replace windscreens?

I think I'm restoring the car, I would hate to see it sold for parts... And then sell it on once it's back to scratch
