Sorting out kerbed alloys

Not really sure if this is the best place for this, but here goes.

Before buying my car, I asked the bloke to either drop the price or get the alloys refurbed as all of the rims were scuffed. He had the rims sorted out for me and they looked pretty good.

Since then, I managed to scuff one a tiny amount in a car park. You could barely see it, unless you really looked when they had just been cleaned.
BUT, on Friday I clipped a kerb on a roundabout (i seemed to have one of those bad driving days) and have put about a 4" scuff in one of my wheels. It's not disastrous (and hasn't gone deep at all), but I want to get it sorted.

I thought in the short term I would rub the damage off with some wet and dry just to smooth the rough edges down.

Then when spring arrives I am probably gonna get the wheels properly looked at. There are a couple of areas of corrosion that weren't sorted when the bloke had the rims repaired that I might get done and I want the damage I have done to be sorted.
Anyone have any idea how rims are actually repaired? And whether I should go for a full strip down and re-spray to get rid of the corrosion. I imagine that would cost quite a bit. If I do that, it might be worth me choosing another colour at the same time to get them re-done in???

SO how much would it cost, firstly to just have the rims tidied up and secondly for them to be stripped, have any corrosion removed and then resprayed?

I kerbed my wheels a while ago and because they are poilished steel or something i was quoted £63 per wheel. A few of the bits that stick out from the edge of the tyre were damaged so there would have been quite alot of work to do to fix them. I would guess around £40 per wheel

Right then, thanks! I will look into getting this sorted once the weather sorts itself out. Probably treat the car to some light tints on the rear 3 windows and get the alloys spruced up.
