Today i changed the front discs and the pads in the car i drove it 10 meters and it was fine didn't feel spongy.
then i changed the rear shoes but there was a spring at the bottom of the shoes that was a B**ch to take off and put back on you need to be hercules.
when i tried to put the spring back i managed to pull out the rubber seal on the rear brake piston and brake fluid spilled. i put the seal back on and there was no damage to the seal.
any way this happened on both rear drums.
now when i took the car for a drive the brake pedal goes all the way down and feels spongy and i have to pump the brake like a B***ch to stop the car.
is this normal because the pads have not bed in yet or do you think there is air in the system and i have to bleed the brakes.
if i have to bleed it do you reckon RAC will do it as i have a membership with them. I have to be at work tomorrow and i don't think any garages are open.
My car is a Seat ibiza mk2
1.4 8Valve
had the VW calipers
99 year model
