Hi Guys, ive got a squeaky front passenger window. when i go to put it either up or down its making an awful squeaking noise as if the glass is catching on the rubber seal or something. has anyone else had this issue and if so how was it solved?

Hi Mate

Havent had it on my Leon, but recently had it on my girlies nissan.

You need a PTFE lub spray, wind the window down and spray in the rubber track, not too much and then get something like a cotton bud and run it up and down the track. You need to lub it but not have loads of spray on the window.

Wide the window up and down a few times, maybe redo the lub if u need to but it should be fixed.

Good luck.

i was going to say about mine at some point, so now is the time!

mine doesnt squeak but when it gets right to the top for the last couple of centermeters it makes some awfual mechanical sound. like a grinding/catching sound. im guessing my motor is dead or something?

is yours an actual squeak or is it like mine?

no not same as yours mate. i wish it was lol. im guessing the rubber tracks are very dry. soon as i try to put the passenger window down its squeaking. (VERY BAD) its the rubber against the glass. its doing my head in

Sounds like the regulator guides are FUBAR to me.
Fairly straight forward repair i guess...
Never done it myself, but cant be rocket science surely!!

possibly.
Have you tried silicone spray or WD40 on it? If it was just the seals, that would cure it...
Are any scores visible on the glass itself? Birds often chuck moss out of gutters, and if your unlucky it can go down inside.

As for the regulators, I just put "seat leon window regulator" into ebay, and they come up.
Only thing is, theres drivers side only at the mo, so i didnt bother post a link.

Come to think of it, the door seal guide wouldnt show you how to get the glass out either. But from memory of when i had a break in on my old 1.8SE, the glass is only clipped to the regulator at either side with plastic clips, or so the Autoglass bloke said anyway!!
