Hello all, I will soon to be looking for a remap from my 2007 leon cupra. I have been doing some searching to various forums with cars that are k04 turbo'd and the stage one remap seems to then give clutch problems (slippage). it seems to be a mixed bag of results With some slipping and some ok .to be honest but I don't want to be going down the route of clutch etc just now.

Is there some stage one graphs ( did a search and found some old posts by al) but if someone had graphs for the likes of revo, Giac and cutom code that wouldbe great. Revo seem. To be the more aggressive map...

Thanks in advance.

Ha ha ha ha! I wont bother saying anything about how this was not going to happen etc etc :cartman:

As you know, mine was running the standard clutch until the recent installation of the Sachs, and even when the Sachs went in, the OEM clutch was fine. I am sure it depends more on how the car is driven than how much power/torque the car has.

Come to think of it, Owens original clutch was also fine when his was swapped out.

Oh and there are power and torque graphs of Mk2 Leons in the FAQ section here :)

Yeh al I seen that posts etc, but on the first page the custom code was labelled as an early code... Curious to see some more recent graphs etc. Also you still got your graph stage one? Your link doesn't work for it!

And yes al, it was going to have to happen really!!! :)

That is what I am not wanting.... At all. Going down the uprated clutch is further than I am thinking on taking this car. What sort of driving are you doing? Traffic stop and start etc? Sit with your clutch down whilst stopped etc? Cheers for the input!

The type of map has nothing to do with clutch slip. Look at Owen and I. Both had huge power and drive them properly (ie quick). Mine was Revo and he had GIAC and neither had clutch slip.

I've been running revo stage 1 for over 10,000miles and absolutely no clutch slip at all, i think driving style has a lot to do with the life expectancy of your clutch.

agreed, 13500 miles with 90% of that at WOT and mines fine apart from it needing a new slave and master cylinder along with clutch release bearings.

Waynes is the same.

Drive to work is a 5 minute pootle to a relief road, where I boot it to cruising speed, then get to a roundabout, nip round, then drive down a road then at work... very rarely do stop start...

I probably did leave the clutch down at lights/at the roundabout in the old days until I found out that it is bad for the release bearing. Didn't sit on the biting point though.

David - Also remember that worst case scenario is £150 for a clutch from Seremotors. You would be able to change that no bother being a mechanic and all.

Also remember booting it isn't the worst thing for a clutch, its trying to be nice to it thats worse.

Low rev's acceleration, slipping it at junctions etc etc.

I'd said to Al about you getting a remap, we all knew it was on the cards.
Very different car after the map, you'll enjoy it.

It's not the cost of the standard clutch al, or the labour that I would chrarge myself. I wouldn't replace the origional with another origional it would be a fast road clutch which I believe is about £600. And getting my drive done soon don't have that extra sitting about....

The thing is though that the standard clutch is good as long as you dont drive like a :w4nk:, hold the car on hills when the handbarke will do, ride the clutch, do burnouts etc etc, none of which you do.

As I said before, Owen and I both managed fine on standard clutches, and we drive the car as it should be. A standard clutch would be fine in my opinion on a remap.
