Got this error message on dash of my 57 FR TDi yesterday. It's a BMN engine. Oil level is ok and engine still runs and sounds/feels fine. Obviously I stopped and parked it up as soon as i could and it's booked into garage tomorrow so won't be driving it before then.

Just hoping it's something simple like a pressure sensor. Any other sensors that could cause this on this engine? Or any other explanation?

Sorry to revive and old thread, but my car did this, this morning after some hard cornering around a roundabout. I turned off the car asap and everything was fine after starting back up. Oil level is fine, guessing its just a sensor as above?

Thought it may be because the oil has swished to one side of the sump after the hard cornering?

I will scan the car tomorrow on VCDS.

I had the warning come up on dash last night - also from a corner to hard - did you find out if yours was just a sensor ? Thanks

If its only done it when hard cornering i wouldnt worry about it. Just stop hard cornering lol

It will be momentary oil pressure drop like said above from swishing to one side. Keep your oil up to the max to minimize it happening again :)

If it doesnt use much oil use 5w30 or use 5w40 if she uses a bit. Either will be fine just make sure its a quality fully synthetic that meets VW spec 504.00 of the top of my head.

Opie oils can supply you with a wide choice and some good advice.

Not sure if it affects the dervs but oil pressure light can be from a blocked oil pickup pipe and if you run the car like that then you are in for a wallet emptying exercise.

Personally I never use engine flush for example when doing an oil change as you run the risk of loose gunk getting sucked up and blocking it.

I've recently put a new one on mine as a precaution as it's now done 57k and wanted piece of mind.As it turned out it was still like new but dependent on how well maintained your car is will obviously change how good or bad the pickup is.

For anyone who wants to see it it's towards the end of my readers ride thread and the link is in my signature.
