Hi I have finally got myself a 1m Leon
I have always liked how they look and drive was going to go for the cupra r 1.8 t but seen to many off them engines coming in to work with issues with oil pumps and cam belts failing I got put off I know it’s the owners fault not the cars lol but you know what I mean

I found a nice 2004 Leon 1.9tdi 150 pd with full history in yellow with leather interior he said it had a bigger turbo on but not confirmed that did have coil overs on it. Also been remapped but I would say not that well as there is a lot off turbo lag. It’s also had the cat and egr removed oh and it’s done over 204k and still goes like a train once you get over the lag

Hi, welcome to the forums. You'll have to post some pics up, sounds ace especially with the leather interior. I have been recently converted to leather seats. You got any plans for it? Going to take it in for a different map?

but seen to many off them engines coming in to work with issues with oil pumps and cam belts failing

I assume you work in a garage?

As above, Welcome to the forum.

I love a good leather seat, unless its sunny or if it's winter lol the seats in mine are the comfiest i've had.

Looks like you need to get the car re mapped again to avoid the lag you mention. Sounds like you have some fun ahead!

Enjoy

Yes re map soon but have lots off brake pipes to do and some flexes as well and need to buff the rear spoiler as it’s the only part off the car that has faded got the front bumper that needs a bit off paint. The wheels will be going white and thinking the roof to go white too and a better exhaust well back box it’s a power flow one but it’s a bodge job and does not look good at all my step son looked at it and laughed lol bad welding and just does not look nice so waiting to see if he will book me in for a new custom one fitting made bye him or just to get a standard one. Toying with the idea off getting a cupra r rear bumper and some off them fins and a front splitter off a cupra r but not sure yet got to get the car right first then work on getting it looking how I want it

Welcome. Sounds tidy & I love the mellow yellow MK1, so glad you are giving it a new life. Enjoy!

Sadly the mk1's need a lot of loving. At least it keeps us busy & makes us more proud on the road! Good luck.

That't the joy, and also you know its been done properly and no Garage cockups.

I think I found my last little turbo pipe leak hope all that black smoke goes now on boost
It was the pipe that goes straight onto the turbo from the air filter the clip must off been worn or not put on correctly as the rubber pipe was half in the clip and half on the turbo grr put new jubilee clip but while this pipe was off checked for play on the turbo shaft there was a little but not much but some off the blades had makes on them as something not quite right even spotted some small metal shavings on the body of the turbo pipe that the rubber pipe goes over grr looks like I need a turbo rebuilt
