Hi everyone I just wondered what everyone's thoughts are on the superchip bluefin? I had one on my ford kuga for 4 years with no issues and the difference was incredible although it wasn't proven on the rollers like a custom map. I just wondered if I should get my unit recoded for my 184 leon ? If anyone had one fitted I would be interested to hear what you thought. Cheers thanks

Last I heard about Bluefin, they had gone bust. But I just looked on their website, and looks like they are back again.

Out of interest, I just priced up a Bluefin Superchips for my 184 TDI. With a summer sale on and £100 off, it is still £431 with a refurbished handheld unit! For that sort of money, I would choose a Revo remap over superchips every day of the week!

I've got a hardly used DTUK CRD-t+ box if you're interested. The previous owner bought it new and had it on his 184 for 1 month, then I bought it and had trouble insuring it with the AA (long story!). I left it and then went for a remap with a different insurer.

I had my Cupra 280 mapped to stage 1 with Lawtons Auto’s Ltd in Newcastle-under-Lyme. They use Quantum Tuning’s mapping. Very good map. Perfect for the car.

Hi, I had a superchips remap on my 2.0 tdi 150 last year, with a mobile technician coming to my house for £289. Couldn't fault the remap.

After you guys have had the remaps, what has happened to the economy?

I cannot really understand how companies can claim more power with less fuel used as I note bluefin do claim on their site.

No difference with my fuel economy still getting over 50 mpg.

Depends how you drive, but yes, high mpgs still possible when cruising around in comfort. My stage 1 allows the engine to produce more power in the lower rev-ranges too, which I like.

I had a Bluefin map on my previous Mk. 2 Leon. It worked really well with a noticeable difference in performance. No issues for the duration of the time I owned the car.

I haven't used a Bluefin, but I have used a Celtic tuning Emotion2+ on my previous two cars and I was really happy with the results.

They work in a similar way, you read your map with it, send it to be modified then they send it back for you to upload to your car.

With the Emotion2 you can buy new maps for subsequent cars for a much discounted price providing you keep the device. They want just £120 to do a map for my Golf GTi

Likewise, my last Leon Mk.2 had a Bluefin on for 80,000 miles with no issues, Superchips have been around for years, they don't claim the best performance figures but provde a safer map compared to others, for me other than Superchips I'd visit Litchfield's in Tewkesbury..
