Thought id do a thread for the upcoming swap over.
First issue is i need to get the code from the 310 via vag, before i swap it out for the 315.
(not sure if swapping over prior to test the new unit will **** it up for me to get the old code)

I've used this guy in the past for radio codes - [email protected]

If you email him your RNS 310 serial number, model number and part number (all printed on the sticker) he should be able to obtain it for you. Costs €10 and takes 2 - 3 days.

You only need your chassis number and the radio serial number..Best thing to do is just ring parts, act daft and give them the two numbers. The serial number is on the side of the radio on the sticker and embedded into the radio itself. I work at vw and it literally takes like a second, dont let them charge you £28 for it! I would do it for you, but im only allowed to do vw ones.

This is utterly disgusting that they want to charge you for that. All they do is enter the code on the back of the unit into their computer and hit enter, then a code gets displayed on the screen, they either write it down on a piece of paper or print it out to give to you. It literally is less than 5 minutes and involves pressing a few buttons.

Well im a bit confused. Plugged into VCDS to get the code for the 310. I think i have ot bit not sure. Anyone done this before to get the code??

Also now ive put the 315 in getting quite a few fault codes. I know i need to add a dab aerial but can do that later. Phone connected to the radio for phone calls but wont stream music to the radio.... Grrrrr

Well rang Seat direct and no they wont give it out over the phone. And yes they will charge if i go into the local dealership.

I think ive got the code from VCDS but im not 100% sure. I went into Navigation (77) And into Codes which came up with RNS310 in the description then looked at the bottom of the scree where there was a 4 digit code.

Just dont want to sell it to find its not the one i needed to look at.

Well tonight ive had more of a play. emailed the guy above to see if he can assist with the code so i can sell my old 310.
Found and disconnected the bluetooth modual under the drivers seat to see how easy it is. (borrowing my mates vag-com cable on weds so i can tweak and enable the bluetooth on the radio, then unplug the bluetooth under the seat)

havent found the location of the currently working mic, but i think its within the internal light cluster? has anyone used this and wired it to the radio to get that working?

also was going to stick my DAB aerial onto the radio but when i pulled it out again to do so it needs a similar connector as the blue GPS connector.... bugger...

What DAB aerial have people fitted before to get around this?

Thanks

76^3/16 xor 356 -255^2/100 = CODE

Code is in the serial!
