Tapping when cold

Hey guys i was out in my car earlyer (pd150 leon) and when i started it up after about 5 mins it started to make a tapping noise then when it got warm it stopped. Any ideas on what it is?

I hope it's not the signs of early cam/tappet wear that is sometimes known to affect PD150s....

Would it be safe to use if it is the cam that has gone. Also how can i check if it has gone
