Evening all.
Im after a little help if possible.
I have a 2004 150 TDI Leon that needs a glow plug wiring harness.
I spoke to TPS (Trade Parts Specialists) and they didnt really have a clue what i was on about and kept asking me if i wanted the harness that goes to the injectors.
Then rang the local Seat dealers and they didnt really filll me with hope. But are getting one in for me to pick up tomorrow lunch time.
Thing is i want to know what it looks like before i hand over my hard earned.
Went on google images and it threw up all sorts.
Anybody have a pic or part number of the part i need please?
They quoted me £34+vat for the part. Sound about right?

Cheers

Rich:)

Yeah mate that would sound right price, if it's from a seat dealer then they should take it back if it's the wrong part. Just don't open the sealed bag until you have compared it to the old one.

Dave at seremotors could have sent you the right part as it would be matched to your VIN number and it would have been cheaper.

The part number on my harness (2005 TDI 150) was 038 971 220 D

Thanks for the pic. Im sure i could have got it cheaper elseware but i need to fit it asap. Its started ok so far but one real cold morning and i may not be so lucky.

Thanks for your replies.

Well. The part is fitted but have left it half stripped as im fitting a clutch tomorrow so dont want to take it all apart again.
Fingers crossed thatll sort the problem out.
Thanks again for all your help and info.
ill let you know how i get on once its all back together and ive cleared the fault codes.
Thanks again.

Rich

P.s Something i noticed the other day whilst changing the g/plug wires. Theres a black vacuum sphere with a single hose attached floating around near the glow plugs. Any ideas where it mounts on?

Hi Rich, the vacuum ball clips to the plastic intercooler pipe that runs in behind the oil filter ;)

Luvly cheers. ill get on to that:D.

Ok, bit of an update.

Fitted new harness (bridge) and control relay and reset my computer. The light came back on thismorning. Plugged back in and coming up with 17068 code. Glowplug signal inplausable permanent. Anyone have any more ideas please?
Want to catch it before the frost comes.

No, not yet.
I checked for a live on the original bridge. There was just a flash on the test light when a coleague switched the ignition on. Maybe 1/10 of a second?
Havnt had a chance since fitting the new one.
Just cleared the memory and it came back on the next day.
Ive only had the car a few weeks so wont be giving up on it just yet:D.

Starting to lose the faith

Ok, im scratching my head now.
1st thing i did was to replace the relay no 4 hidden behind the lower cowling then replaced the bridge on the engine and still no luck.
Just pulled relay 4 out and checked the relay holder with a test light. Got nothing at all. No lives from any of the holes with the ignition on or off.

Anyone?:(
