to decided whether or no to go for a custo map by jim at star my mods are in my sig or go for the
gt2x setup and run on it on revo stg2(is this possible)?

can i get some opinions please

it's not suitable to run a gt2x on stage 2 code.

Revo stage 2 is designed for injectors & a maf diameter that will need to be replaced for gt2x

basically the maf could 'max out' and not measure the correct amount of air, so the injectors won't fuel enough & you'll run lean

the injectors will max out & you'll run lean.

lean is bad

Did they ever sort out revo stage 3 to run the gt2x ?

if that works the upgrades about £175 from what i have read

i read on a few forums from the USA that people had run it on revo stage 3 software, the K04-01 file i believe

none of them reported problems... but that didnt mean that there were none

they said the K04-01 and the GT2X turbos were a similar size and had similar flow characteristics

so do i go for custom map on what i am running now. i have similar if not the same mods as cuprabaz his is mapped my jim and he is running 250bhp which sounds good to me.

afew people run revo stage 2 on a k03s and see about the 230 mark , some have had jabba custom maps and got 250 ish

if you can sell your stage 2 and go jabba you should see an improvement

You can run it on stage 2 if you want, but you have to tune it with a wideband and lemmiwinks to take into account the larger injectors and possibly larger MAF.

personally i think going from a stage 2 map to a custom map on a k03s is a bit pointless, you can tweak stage 2 using a few tools which gives you near enough a custom map anyway
benefits of a custom map over revo stg 2 will me minimal me thinks

save your money for GT2x with custom mapping

Dyno lottery unless you compare them both on the same rollers on the same day with the same operator with the same outside temps with the same mods etc etc etc... only map difference

I was in the same boat, If i could have changed the turbo myself i would have gone GT2x, Ive actully decided now to get the most out of my k03s. High flow mani and water / meth to finsh it off. Depending on how the car feels and results after a RR will determin if i opt for a custom map. If i push the k03s to hard and it goes pop then ill be considering a GT2X set up!

If you can afford it go for it!

Its seems fairly evident to me that revo stage 2 isn't great on k03s. Has anyone actually ever got more than 230bhp? Alot of people have made 250bhp with a custom map, including me, but afaik no one claims to have that with revo stg2. Everyone keeps sayin dyno lottery etc etc but where's all the 250bhp revo st2 claims then?? I've even been on rollers that showed a k03s ibiza mapped by jabba to be 30bhp less than mine, so its not necessarily all about jabba either.

I'd say custom map all the way for k03s, but obviously gt2x is the way to go if you can afford the extra.

I`ve got 231bhp from stg2.

But as you have said the custom maps and even CC seem to do better than revo stg2. Im more than likly going to use jabba once my mani and water meths is fitted.
