Camera view has suddenly skewed. Can’t think of a reason why this would have happened: no impacts or other external factors.
Anyone know if this change could be either physical cause or could it be computer fault, and is the correction purely electronic or do cameras need moving?
I’m assuming that this needs to go to a dealer or specialist to fix. Has anyone any experience of having this done? Number of hours work/ cost?

This happened to mine when it was under warranty. Other than issues sourcing the equipment required to do the calibration I don't think it was a big job for the dealer. I think it must have been electronic rather than physical as it seems odd that both side cameras would independently skew by the same amount in the same direction.

Yes, I think it is probably electronic. I’d had my third annual service recently, so wonder if it could have happened if they’d done a software update. I didn’t notice the problem until a couple of weeks after the service.

The calibration settings are obviously stored somewhere. You would think the dealer might have reset them by accident other than that a bit of memory has got corrupted where they are stored.

I have seen mine somewhere since I reckon I printed them out and concluded it was a lot to re-enter by hand ?. This was prior to having my infotainment firmware updated... stored in my paper file I made leading up to getting the infotainment system updated... mind you I don't reckon the settings are stored in there, that was my worry.

There is a video. I suspect this is the same process as the Seat one. They might have to take it to one of their VAG central places unless they already have a copy of your settings and can reload back in.

Thanks for the info. ?

The other thing they warn you against is jet pressure washing the camera positions. It pushes the camera out of alignment. Not sure what affect that gives to the image. The left one looks correct, the right one doesn't. A visual check of each camera in the wing mirror may show something perhaps. Worth a look.

I don’t use a jet washer myself, but the dealer did when they’d finished the service - I wonder……. ?
