Torque App - BHP Accuracy

Just did a bit of experimenting with the torque app. Did a few runs accelerating from low down to full revs. Used 2nd and 3rd gear for the tests...The max bhp came out at 180 bhp at 6,350 revs...
Its a 2005, LCR running on 95 ron. Dont have access to fuel with a higher ron.

Car is standard. Anybody used this function on the app and has anybody correlated that to a rolling road figure.

Dont have a rolling road in my area to check it out.

Have you taken the maf g/s readings to cross check it? Would be worth trying, as there are so many variables to chick the calculation up with the app.

Will check the g/s... Tried quickly when I was driving a while ago to read it through the torque scan menu.. It's hard to drive fslt out and keep an eye on the phone... Will see if I can log the run and find it from there....

Apple one is called REV I believe.... But it's a lot more expensive and doubt it's better

Some of the dials you can select record max figures so you don't have to watch while your driving

Ya found that handy with the bhp one... Will have a mess around and see if I can set up the g/s screen

when i did the mk5 ibiza cupra it showed 228 at one point and they are only 180 so dont think its that accurate to be fair. but it is a cracking app. my mate keeps wanting me to clear his egr valve fault every few thousand miles haha

Make sure you have the profile set up correctly asks you for weights etc

Had a look more at the settings for the car profile.. Lots of variables in there alright... Reckon I have it set up to graph the g/s.. Looking forward to the drive home after work to test it out

Just got this app. Havent had a chance to play around with it as much as i would like but first impressions are great. managed to do one 0-60 time down a sliproad and got 6.78 and that was with the esp flashing and i didnt launch it off the line as it was rather wet.

The map function is good and shows your differnt speeds along the route by traffic light colour system.
Just need to by a stand for my phone!

I love this app, my Bluetooth adapter turned up yesterday and I've had a good play with it.

Does anyone know how to get the Oil Temp reader working as I have this on my main dash screen but it doesn't come up with a reading.

Is there also anyway of recording max g/s and boost readings!

Any other reading that people would suggest having on the user dashborad?

If you set it up right it will tell you the max recorded g/s and when you can get that all you do is divide it by .79 and that will give you a rough idea of what bhp you are running!

I thought you had to divide it by .8 or times 1.25 (which gives exactly the same figure).

When you say set it up, you mean inputing engine size and the weight of the car?
