Tow bar mounted bike racks

Hi everyone, does anyone use a towbar mounted bike rack for their mountain bikes and can you recommend one thats good and secure. I was thinking of getting a removeable towbar fitted too so I can take it off when its not being used. Cycle carrier would need to carry 2 bikes , possibly 3.

Pics would be a great help too please.

I’ve got this.

Expensive but well worth it. All bikes lock to the frame and I used to carry 3 mountain bikes (no tow bar any longer) with no problems. It also can hinge down fully loaded to allow the boot to be accessed too. They also do one that carries two bikes but for the difference in price go for the 3 bike version.

Great bike carrier and I’ve left 3 bikes locked into it whilst having food and a drink and never had any losses.

My towbars have always been removable too

Ive has a few. I know one was a Witter and I think another was a Thule. Both were supplied and fitted by http://www.hedley-towbars.co.uk

They are based in Durham and came to my house to install twice to two Ibiza’s I gave previously owned. Dependant on where you are I could highly recommend them.

Not me but my mate has a Thule bike rack which clamps onto his tow bar. Great piece of kit, it can swivel back so you can open the hatch as well
