right guys ive got a 1.6 leon and im not finding the mpg as good as i thought i'd get only getting around 350 miles or so from a tank! I was wondering would i be best to keep it or trade it in for a 110bhp leon?

are there any real advantages and disadvantages with a diesel especially the 110bhp ones? i would love to get an fr+ but only being 20 and having to drive under my mums policy and not having a ncb i cant really afford the insurance or the initial trade in cost. :-o

how much would i get for my car its a July04 1.6 leon sx, met black, 12000miles excellent condition?

are there any other cars out there i could consider?

Many thanks guys

Depends how much money you got really, can you afford to "lose" 4K? its a lot of money!
Why not keep it for a while, till you build up your NCB and get a bit older then get an FR+ that you want, dont forget by the time you got years no claims and turn 21 your ins will drop (im 21 1 years no claims and i pay 1200 on a new FR+ petrol) and the FR's will come down in price. Thats what i would do...

Depends really on what kind of driving you do! I get around 500-550 per tank in my FR Tdi driving mostly on quick A roads.

i do 2 short journeys and 2 longish ones a day. short ones only for about 10mins down to the next town and the long one sometimes takes 45mins. both with mixed traffic conditions. i know they are relatively short journeys but over in n.ireland there isnt that far i need to go lol. i just want better economy, and to be honest the 1.6 really doesnt seem to be all that great mpg wise

im getting around 300-320 per tank with a lot of belfast driving if thats any use to you mate, do you constantly sit in the best gear? as soon as im doing 35-40mph im in 6th gear (5th for you) and the trip comp says im getting 50-60 mpg, obviously iwont get that sort of consumption but its a hell of a lot better than sitting in 3rd or 4th.

Look at the toledo equivelent, the insurance is lower, my toledo is ins group 7, however if the same engine was in a leon its ins group 9!

um yea im usually in as high a gear as i can. ive been hearing a clicking noise from the belt beside the engine but the guy at ladas drive said he cant notice anythin wrong with it. im just worried that theres a small problem making the car inefficient. i wouldnt mind a toledo but i prefer the shape of the fr+, seen one at boucher road today silver but it had a price tag of 13995?!?!?

the mpg seems low on my car though do you not think?

i think 350 miles is quite good for a petrol.i had a golf GTTDI 115 before my cupra r and that was great on diesel.250 miles on £20.i got 200 miles from £46 in the r :( i tend to have a heavy foot though
