Right got my splitter today various people said use self tappers. It comes with bolts. Here my experience.

First id suggest jacking up the front end. I didnt. Made it hard work.

The splitter as it comes. Taken out the box.

Put in place and held up with logs...

I then used self tappers just to hold it in place. Couldnt use a screw gun as no room hence jacking suggestion.

I then removed one of the front two self tappers and made the whole bigger. Couldnt drill it as no room ( please jack the car....) so this took time on all 8 holes. Used bigger screw sizes to widen. Then got the bolt it. To get the nut on the inside i removed the grill.

This gave you room to get to the bolts.

Those two were easy. The other 3 both side were b@stards. Took me a while to figure this. But its how i did it.

Remove screw from fog light grill and prise the grill out.

I could get the 10mm socket inside for the back bolt and middle easy. The front 3rd bolt you need arms like the Elastic Man. Managed in the end.

Job done.

Good effort, I should be getting my splitter soon from Triple-R

I plan to jack the car up with axle stands high enough to easily gain access, I also imagine that removing the under tray will help a lot to gain access to the bolts

Did you try removing the undertray?

Did you use self tapping screws or the bolts provided? I'm getting mine lowered and want to get it all done at the same time haha. Probably kill the splitter tho

Removing the undertray will help on the left side as you can put your hand/arm in. On the right side I did go through the foglight, and for the middle remove grill! I didn´t and it was pain in the @ss to get the nuts on.
But I did jack my car! :)

I've got a quick question regarding the splitter, and sorry its nothing tto do with fitting; but this guide has/will be infinitely valuable, but how far does the bottom of the lip of the splitter sit below the bumper? I'm considering getting one along with lowering the car soon, but want to check roughly how much play I've got to ensure I don't destroy the splitter on one of the many speed bumps I encounter on a very regular basis! Many thanks for that, I didnt think it would be much but still wanted to check, I emailed Triple R but they've never got back to me.

And I always try to reverse into spaces anyway, my last car (Vectra SRI) was really low as standard and so would scrape on any kerb/bump it got close to!

Hi Rob,

Don't mean to sabotage your thread, but has anyone ever removed the bumper to fit the splitter - wouldn't that be easier?

Only issue is there's no decent removal guides lol.

When I fitted mine I didn't remove grille, foglights, under tray or anything else for that matter. There's no need really. I do have a lift though. Whole job took less than an hour in total. I used only the bolts supplied and it's perfectly solid. It's a bit of a stretch to get in with a few of the nuts but no big deal.

Fitted mine today. Ended up putting it on axel stands and removing the front bumper after screwing the bolts in, just to tighten the bolts. Pretty easy job, just time consuming and small spaces to deal with lol unless youve got a lift.
