Hi guys,

What tyre pressures are you running on your Leons?

My front tyre is starting to look a bit flat, so I need to get it sorted, just wondered what the best pressure was so I can check them all.

Cheers

Chris

So anywhere between 33 & 36 psi should be fine ?

excellent - I'll get that sorted

ps - 10k from the fronts ?? You got soft rubber ?

lol - 18k on the standard wheels, they wont last as long anymore as I've mastered the powerslide on a corner coming home from work :ban:

Pop the fuel flap and look at the sticker in there, dont over inflate or underinflate the tyres for every day driving, and always check the tyre pressures when the cars had been standing for a few hours.

A few hours WOW anyone would think I had a flat everyday

33 all round on mine. Funny I checked the pressures yesterday and they were all down to about the 27 mark

Put them all up to 33 and it seems to have improved the ride and "feel" of the car significantly. Gonna check them more often nowadays! :)

I run 32 on the front and 31 - 32 on the rear. The ride definately gets more bone shaking when you pumped the tyres up from 25 psi :D

What! 38psi is ridiculous! For the 225/40/18 the fuel cap says 33psi all round for normal use. I am using p-zero corsa's at the moment (as opposed to the standard p-zero rosso rubbish) and use 30psi all round, with perfectly even wear, good ride quality and grip.

44psi/3bar on my 225/30-20s

Do not go under 38psi on stock 225/45-17 or 225/40-18....or the tyres will not wear correctly.

Thats PUMPED !!! Dont know if iv'e got that many 20p's for that kind of pressure

Thing is, higher than standard pressure will result in lower grip when accelarating and braking for example.

Also over inflation would grow considerably at higher temparatures after motorway or some hard driving.

If your tyres are wearing badly, too much wear in the middle is over inflation and too much at the sides is under inflation - I know that is simple, but a lot of people don't realise!

And remember to never check tire pressures after a long run, or if you have been hard cornering, because of the influence of temperature.

This also applies to hot (or cold) weather, like last month. A tire's pressure will change around 1.5 psi every 10 deg F, or about 3 psi per 10 deg C.

So if you set your tire pressures last month when we were getting 30C then the now 15C could mean your pressures are 4.5psi lower.
