Hello

I have an Ibiza SC 1.6 TDI CR, this is the second SEAT diesel I have owned - the first was an Ibiza TDI FR Mark 4.

Both diesel cars so far have had problems with the outer edges of the front tyres wearing too quickly (this usually means low pressure). I recently discovered that the tyre pressure on the 1.6 petrol fuel cap recommened 30 front & 28 rear which is the same as the diesel.

Surely a diesel engine is heavier and requires more pressure in the tyres, can anyone confirm if my presumptions are correct and what tyre pressures anyone uses with their 1.6 TDI CRs.

Thanks

PS 17" upgraded alloys.

I'd just be tempted to put a bit more psi in them anyway, if you already know that they're showing signs of under inflation? If you've changed your alloys, then I suspect the numbers will be slightly out anyway, especially if it's a wide wheel.

While your thinking about diesels being heavier than petrols is true in some cases, it seems to me that they're not that much different anymore. The new technology diesels seem to be less of a lump of metal than the older ones.
