So,, Who has there under trays fitted still?

I have mine on but I need to take them off so I can get clearance on Bill's rolling road.

Doubt I will bother putting them back on as they are a pain.

Any reason why I shouldn't leave them off?

Interested to hear the number of owners who have removed against those who have kept theirs on.

I'd put it on if I was you, helps keep crap out the engine bay, prevents any objects being flung up to your engine/box and belts, insulates noise and it improves the underbody aerodynamics (nothing noticable I would of thought but still will).

They are a royal pain in the arse and make a 30 min oil change so much more work, but they do a good job of keeping things clean in the bay... Especially with all the salt on the roads this time of year it can only be a good thing to leave them on if you can bear the extra hassle.

Edit: Also they tend to hang down a fair bit and are a good warning sign for speed bumps that are getting a little too close for comfort to your sump...

^ its only an extra couple minutes to remove though? 95% of the cars I service have undertrays and never have issues with them, even heavy duty metal ones.

Always on - to the extent that I've just replaced mine, and with a TDI 150 that's expensive. A previous owner had hit something with it, damaging the tray and sidewall and the pancake pipe, which hangs down very low. The whole back section of the tray had been ripped off and bodged back on with a metal strip.

Mine is a full-length tray and has the additional feature that it cushions the sump when you bottom out on a speed bump. Aerodynamics in and under the engine bay are improved (more airflow through the bay which is kept at low pressure, and the underfloor air flow is smoother) plus keeping water, salt and road dirt out of the bay.

Taking the tray off is not a difficult job, even on axle stands, and must be easy if you've got a pit or a lift.

It's on there for aero reasons. All that air that passes under the tray nice and smoothly with it off is going all over the place. Any air that's going up into the engine bay causing your dirty engine is also having a parachute effect. Slowing you down and causing your mpg to drop.
