has anyone remapped their 1.8T using MTM?...i know audi cars respond really well with them, having being behind an RS4 and seeing a white S3 round my way. both absolutely wernt hanging around either. also the exhaust systems that you purchase through MTM sound immense too...ive done a bit of reading on here, and not much to shout about really

prices seem quite pricy also, and it doesnt say nothing about stage 2 chipping either...just trying to work out all the NM of torque to lb ft..:p

Not many, because of the price mainly. Might as well stick with the others.

MTM Zorst on an RS4 sounds awsome, but it's not going to sound the same on yours.

yeh i know bud 800 euros?....mind you the zorst on the RS4 i could hear about 2 streets away...4 cylinder engines will defo sound a bit flat as you have said..

so is it because MTM dont generally work on SEATs or is it because the cost?...how much actually is 800 euros?

Ive driven a few mtm mapped cars and i wasnt impressed by them. They never had any guts at the top end. I drove a customers mtm mapped RS6 and then an SKN mapped RS6 straight afterwards and the SKN had much more grunt all the way throught the rev range.

Most people stay away as the cost is so much. Better off with a Blueflame turbo back. It may be 800 euros over there, but im sure QST will add shipping, vat and 50% on.

Plus the pound has gone down the toilet so 800 euros is probably at least £800

The other thing to remember is MTM make official upgrade maps for audi. Call me cynical but I would expect fairly small gains so as not to stress anything and leave audi open to extra warranty claims.

MTM remaps are there to tie in with audi philosophy of smooth linear power deliverly.

so its not so much about power...more about drivability and smoothness

seems to be the mtm way. They never really have been about all out power but instead high quality with prices to match.

If you have a big ass expensive RS4, you're not going to worry too much about the cost of the remap, and MTM have always had a "corporate" image, which suits.

Like Poverty says, and a good reputation with the S and RS guys - you're going to spend your money with the tried and tested guys...

MTM always seems to be alot of fuss over not very much imo. They are expensive but aim their products at the audi range which tend to have owners with money. Having an MTM tuned car seems to be abit of an image thing aswell whether its more or less powerful than another tuners package doesnt seem to matter as they have an car with MTM stuff on it. Their alloys seem to be pretty bad quality though. Seen quite a few on RS4s that have laquer problems etc.

very true mate, i see a lot of MTM badged audis round my way and i would say 80% you can tell are not chipped. its to do with the image etc of being a bad boi..lol....the RS4 i saw the alloys were kerbed to fook! obviously the owner didnt care a hoot about his £55k motor.....

on the same note the ones that are chipped look and sound the mutts nuts though....i was lead to believe you cannot obtain the MTM badge without the chip tho

I drive a ibiza cupra mk3 with a mtm chip installed, Ive recently fitted a k03s (and all the other goodies) and when I spoke to my local tuner (mtm supplier) about installing a stg. 2 he asked me why I bothered to change a k03 with another ko3 and started laughing of all the effort I had put down for nothing... After reading a lot of good feedbacks from people going the revo stg 2 route on here, Ive decided to try this map. Im currently waiting for my new ecu to arrive from uk with the revo stg 2 installed.( I live in norway thou)

As for the mtm chip I can say it does deliver a smooth boost but Ive noticed after fitting a forge FMIC, TIP and other stuff that there was a small "dip" in the map between 3k and 3.5k
Another issue for mtm is the price tag on it, the price on the chip is more or less sam as all others here in the country (horrenhester, dahlback, BSR), but when I asked for a price for the mtm cat back fitted they quoted me for a total £1000:) So I ordered a full miltek turbo back system from Uk instead, at the total of £660:)
