Just discovered this tool, has anyone successfully used it to re-program 2nd hand keys (e.g off ebay) to your car?

I only have one key and the dealer has already had 1 go at programming a key for me (@ £100!), but couldn't get access to the UK VAG Server or something!?! They now want it for a full day!

Thought I could do it myself with this VAG TACHO software?

Anyone used it?

cheers

been looking forward to trying it even if just for reading the SKC code reason alone but as yet not needed it but will do eventually

There are a few of the cables on ebay for around £30, not sure whether to go for it or not, expensive item too ONLY progrma 1 key! Can you do anything else with it?

£30 is peanuts, and the best advice is - if you dont know what your doin then leave it well alone.

£30 is not a lot of money, but for one use is a bit daft! If I could get a lot if use from it - I'd get one!

My GOOD what do you mean proper thing this is very expensive clone nothing else.

Anyways with that put aside, i have tried and tested a couple of ebay items like this and some do as they say (but only a very limited amount), some close down and lock out when you try to update them or use them on a laptop with the internet connected or just wont communicate with the car at all.

No matter how good some of them look they are only as good as the software which acompanies them.

Autosvs is owned by XIN NET TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION, specifically a guy named liu qiang. They sell (as pointed out) expensive looking clones. If you're going to buy a clone then you may as well buy a cheap one, and if you're going to pay a lot of money then you may aswell buy the real thing.

The real things generally work, and if they don't you can usually get top class support. Autosvs would doubtless not provide such.
