vagcominstallation on windows 7 x64

installed this using the usual way that has never failed me, and says it was installed correctly but when i double click vagcom it doesnt open, just does nothing.

i have ran as administrator under windows xp service ack 2 and same with vista, any ideas?

also reinstalled and still nothing

As far as I know, the 64 bit versions of Windows don't play well with VAGCOM. I think VCDS-lite is what you need, it's listed as being compatible with everything.

I'm guessing that you're installing the older version (4.x) for use with an eBay cable in which case try VCDS-lite as Slimy suggested. VCDS itself is definitely x64 compatible though, I've not had a problem with it

Yeah, I did kind of assume that it was one of the freebies he was having trouble with...

64bit works fine as i have a acer netbook on 64bit windows 7 likely the version your using thats coursing the trouble
