very hot inlet manifold

since i bought my car there had been a rattle on the exhaust manifold, turned out (after and hour of swearing in the engine bay) to be a little bolt loose on the manifold heatshield. the heatshield was nackered so i took it off completely.

so now the inlet and exhaust manifolds have nothing between them and my car definately lacks some power when its warmed up. i was thinking would heatwrap around the inlet be enough to get the temperature down?

Are you running a 16v? Remeber that the inlet on a 16v sits directly above the head so it gets bloody hot.
