Hi has anyone else had a water leak from rear doors seems to be coming in at bottom of door on to plastic sill trim then running down onto carpets. Possibly door seal leaking!:help:

I think that the seals are too good. Water seems to get trapped between the two seals. If you open the rear door quickly then water tends to splash into the interior. If you open the door slowly then it drains away onto the outer sill.

phils4926 - did you get this sorted? Looks like the nearside passenger door on mine is doing the same - water trickling out the bottom of the door when it's opened, between the main door and the plastic card covering.

My front passenger side door - right side - leaks water. I had two cases last year, and had it at the dealer, but they didnt manage to fix it. Now yesterday, with the strong wind and rain here in denmark, the rubber carpet was wet all over and there was moist all along the rubber seal. That door hasnt even been open for an entire week. I wrote an email to the dealer and requested it to be fixed - havent got a reply yet.
I wonder about the warranty though. If the warranty has expired, and you previously complained about an issue within the warranty period, which they didnt fix, if they would still accept it to be fixed free of charge.

Really?! This used to be an issue on Mk1 Leons, surely they've got a handle on how to effectively drain water from a door without it getting inside by now?!!!
On my wife's old Mk1 I ended up putting a little slot in the outer seal so the water would never collect between the two seals. Obviously it breaks the seal that has but it's only really to stop dirt and mud getting to the inner seal and a tiny slot in it isn't going to be too detrimental. Not something I would be doing on a car in warranty though

Yes if you have an issue highlighted during warranty that they're still trying to fix when the warranty expires, they should still fix it under warranty (not your fault they can't fix it!). BMW replaced a clutch on my old 123d out of warranty due to judder because it was investigated but not fixed before the warranty expired.

Is it rain water or washer fluid? You could try around the rear washer jet, the washer can leak draining down into the spare wheel well. It's a common fault in the Mk1 Fabia's and i seem to recall some issues there in the mk1 Leons too.

Does not smell like a washer fluid, so i would say rain water.
I have a panoramic roof, was thinking if the pipes are clogged:confused:

I bought a new 2104 Leon FR with a sunroof from day one the windows kept steaming up and there was a damp smell in the car.Deal said it was all ok.
So one day i looked myself and ended up pouring water from a jug into the sunroof and then i noticed the water pouring out of the head lining and when i looked the drain pipe from the sunroof was not connected.
Took if back to the dealer with my findings and after fighting with seat i ended up getting new carpets unlay and a new head lining.

Head liner is dry on mine, so are the carpets

I have a water leak in the boot, where spare tyre sits.
No idea about the source?!

Any tips?

We do warranty Seat bodywork and we've just done one with this problem, there was a little split/hole on the back of the roof seem where it is laser welded, it was on n/s (passenger side) and where it drops behind tailgate, water was pouring through there into spare well well
