I was going to post this in my existing thread where I've documented my thoughts on ownership of my Cupra Leon and also where I've catalogued all of the faults and issues I've experienced to date. That said I'm conscious I may get a quicker response in a separate thread.

Approximately 20 minutes into a two-hour journey this morning the infotainment screen came up with the "Changing vehicle settings" message that I must have seen a hundred times to date. Annoying but I'm used to it.

Seconds later the screen went blank and when it came back to life I got the initial "Welcome. Loading Settings" screen with a spinning circle. And there it remained for the next 1 hour and forty minutes of the journey.

No navigation, no music, no ability to change the driver assistants, and no access to anything at all that requires the use of the infotainment system.

I've powered down the infotainment system and pressed the power button for 30 seconds to soft-reset it. I've also parked up the vehicle for 15 minutes and comeback to it - no difference.

Any ideas? I can drive the car but god forbid I need to use the sat-nav or want to change any settings at all.

(I know, the screen needs cleaning)

There have been reports of the infotainment throwing a wobbly when it gets really hot (yes, I know it's a Spanish car ;)) so that may have something to do with yours being stuck in a boot loop.
Remind us who's wonderful idea it was to put pretty much everything, including the HVAC on a touchscreen?

Sounds similar to what happened to mine. You could try going into settings and doing a factory reset.

Mine ended up stuck rebooting every 60s or so. It's now in the dealer awaiting a new screen!

Ah I thought when mine was stuck like that I could still use the button in the top right.

Be prepared for it being in the dealer for a while then!

Mine is due back at the dealer end of next week - constant reboot loop. I do get 60 secs or so in each cycle to adjust the air con etc., but already had a new Infotainment unit (5F?) back in February. Software is now showing as 1896. Who knows what the issue is as during the 60 second 'up' time I get navigation, radio and all the park assist sensors, rear view camera etc., working fine before it shuts down. SOS is out too, red light on the console and a warning triangle in the dash. Despite the parking sensors etc. not working, if I get too close to anything it pings up an error and advises the system/auto braking is not working.

Software is now showing as 1896.

So mine was at the dealership on Monday to have the updates applied however I'm sceptical they actually did anything.

My "Software" is showing as 1790. If yours is on 1896, and the dealership assured me mine had "all the updates applied in the workshop" then surely I should be on higher than 1790?

Wow - even your Nav database is over a year old.
Happy for you to use my screenshot as an example, can give you reg no if you need it, cars are both 2021 model.

Would you mind PM'ing me the reg please mate so I can dispute what work they actually did with them?

That's what mine was doing. Has now been in the dealer a week waiting on a new screen!

So the dealership in question has confirmed they didn't apply any software updates but cannot explain why not.

They have offered me a resolution, including something in the way of compensation, so I'm giving them one more chance.

Hopefully, I'll get the car back with the update(s) applied next time.

When/if they do fix it I wouldn't be back to that dealer again, seems they might be incompetent? When I worked in parts I sat at my desk at times and listened to the service advisers spout lies/guesses and made up shite, took me a lot of effort not to interrupt. Destroyed my faith in dealers.

The whole visit was a farce from start to finish, to be honest. I'll let them do the updates and compensate me but I strongly doubt I'll ever return. I'll elaborate more once the car's sorted in a few weeks.
