Hi All,

I currently drive a 2001 (51) Seat Ibiza 1.4 Chill with 67k on the clock. The condition of the car is good, with the odd stone chip on the front bumper and one light scratch about 20cm long on the back passenger side).

I am wanting to sell this due to buying a new car and have been looking on auto trader for rough guides on prices etc for this car as I do not think Parkers guide is that reliable. The garage has offered £400 for the car in PX which I personally think is a joke. Thus, will be doing a private sale. Realistically what do people think a good ball park figure would be for this. I am thinking around the £1,700 mark. Is this far out

Cheers

I bought my X reg 1.4 Cool/s about 2 months ago.
1 owner, FSH, garaged from new, v good condition (couple of tiny thumbnail knocks but what car doesnt?) spotless interior, 43k on the clock, virtually new tyres all round but due a service (and I got the belt done)
£1750

All I can say is where I am good examples are holding their value but garages/dealers arent buying much at the moment so will offer insulting prices.

with stone chips, scratches & damaged light I'd put it sub "poor private"

Original Priced £7,995
Independent Dealer £1,585
Private Good £1,395
Private Poor £1,070
Part Exchange £1,195

Remember, the garage has to rectify the faults, and pay labour to do it - hence the low offer, as they're not a charity
