What's the greatest volume of fuel you've filled your Leon with?

Just wondering what everyone has pushed their Leons to fuel wise?

I had a squeaky bum drive from the middle of nowhere last week, watching the Fuel Refill Quantity (newly activated with OBD11 ) steadily climb and the range fall.
Changed my individual profile setting to Eco so that I could coast down the numerous hills and stuck to the very gentle acceleration but eventually made it to a Tesco with a range of 5 miles apparently, and 45 litres to refill. However I put in 49.25l (I always go to the third auto click off for some reason) so running on fumes it would seem.

Got 352 miles out of the tank.

Treated my car to Momentum 99 as compensation for running her so close

I once ran approx 15 miles with 0 range. Never again! I must of been on fumes as I brimmed the tank with a few dribbles shy of 50 ltr.

I managed 49.3 litres last week!, managed a range of 540 miles on a full tank with the 1.4 was well impressed.

52.27 liters... I do normally not fill up before she is almost empty as the frequency of the visits already is a matter of annoyance as is, hence I normally refill about 50 liters.
By the way the red dot (the last of the small leds showing the status of the tank) starts blinking when it is getting critical..

The tank size doesn't account for the pipe. If you brim it you'll always have more in than what the manufacturer says you can. My 55ltr tank can get me 700 miles+ if I'm careful.

I try not to let mine get too low as it starts to suck up all the gunk left in the bottom of the tank after a little while which can't be good. I do normally wait until a petrol station is on my route rather than make a special trip though.

How can I tell if there is gunk in my tank? Why does it lie inert on the bottom when the vehicle is moving?

I tend to agree with you in that aspect and have avoided emptying the tank completely on previous cars, but the pathetic size of the tank on the Leon makes me squeeze that few extra commutes out of it... I guess I will just have to change the fuel filter more regularly.

Now that IS impressive! I had plenty of miles left (did once do 10 miles on zero range on my way to the petrol station, sweaty palms all the way). And thanks for the tip about the red dot blinking - I've never pushed my luck that far so had no idea but it's good to know.

You will probably never be able to tell if there is gunk without taking the tank out cutting it open and replacing it tbh. It's nothing to worry about all fuel with have an element of something in it which like most liquids will settle in the bottom of the tank, small amounts of dirt can also get in the fuel system just by opening the flap to fill up I'm guessing. Over time these little amounts will eventually build up but like others have posted, nothing to worry about and a more regular clean/replacement of the fuel filter will probably solve it. I just like to keep mine running as clean as possible as a cleaner engine equals more power, reliability etc. On my old car I only ever ran no ultimate or shell v power but that's before work started paying lol.
