As the title says really, been thinking about investing in a Bluefin but have a couple of questions....

The main reason for my concern is this little disclaimer from JKS

http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/M...ips/BluefinInstructions/bluefin2010notice.gif

From what i can gather the new "tamper proof" ECU in the car means that it might not work etc?

Has anyone got any experience with it on the CR 170? What's the result like? Any issues?? Reason i'm looking at Bluefin is that's its a company motor so i want the ability to be able to flash it back when needed, service's etc!

I think your safest bet is to speak to SuperChips direct and ask them if they have managed to successfully develop a bluefin for the CR 170 engine.

Infact... i just had a look on their site

http://www.superchips.co.uk/search?make=32&fueltype=2&model=137&variant=2102&year=2010

Looks like the CR 170 is catered for... beyond the dates specified in the JKM bulletin... i'd still speak to them though just to make sure before purchasing.

what the OP means is that soem of the newer ECU's are being locked and remappers cant say for certain that there handset will map properly on there, its the same speach that bluefin gave my mate about his mk6 GTI, but it worked fine after the second attempt to load it up from the handset. I wouldnt worry its only them covering their asses if it doesnt work first time, they can always unlock it at their head office free of charge if it doesnt work anyway.

Here is a better explanation :) http://www.****************.co.uk/news/article.asp?id=129

Give them a call on 01280 816781. You normally get a sales person that will go off and talk to a techie for you. A bit frustrating that they won't let you talk directly IMO.
