This Sprint Booster will fit all Leon 1P vehicles.

Most cars in the 21st century have replaced the more conventional throttle cable for an ECM, Electronic Control Module, that translates how hard the pedal is pushed into electronic signals in order to provide power to the wheels. The ETC, which is also known as Drive-By-Wire, has the unfortunate downside of delayed response and subdued acceleration, which can create problems in certain situations such as up-hill starts, quick gearchanges and overtaking. The Sprint Booster aims to overcome this throttle response delay for ETC equipped vehicles, by providing crisp, on-tap acceleration for whenever the driver demands it.

interesting but cant say i have noticed any of the problems this is designed to fix suspiciously like one of those ebay tuning boxes that are meant to give another 15bhp by fooling the fuel temp sensor . . . . .

At £157 I would like to think that it would work and that it is not another pick off crap. sprint boosters web site is for sale so could not find out anu more info about them..

are they suitable for tdi's or aimed more at petrol models? surely turbo lag would be a bigger issue than pedal response?

Depends what vehicle really, some are made for both Diesel and Petrol and some just Petrol.

I think overcoming the turbo lag is a bigger issue. Surely the delay you're talking about would only be a split second. Might be a problem on the track, but for me going in and out of work i can't se it being that big an issue. And for that price is it really worth it??? Not for me

Looks like it modifies the throttle travel signal to the ecu - say you press the throttle pedal
5mm it'll tell the ecu you've squeezed it say 10mm , basically all the throttle range is in
the first half of the travel , the remaining half does litterally nothing-this is what the sport button does in astra sri's and the like.
it does give you the 'feeling' of a more agressive map , but makes the throttle sensitive in traffic situations. I think it may feel ok on a standard car - but i would suggest if mapped , then the pedal sensitivity would spoil low speed driveability & be too agressive - Although i may be wrong

I've had one for 2 years + on my unmapped LCR
This increases the throttle response and make the car very responsive.
This is not recommended with some maps as during the remapping process some mappers change this to make the car 'feel' faster..... cheeky eh?

Not surprising mate , may suit some folk but not others - my 'boxed' astra cdti-
with sport button engaged was unbelieveably sensitive/agressive

Where do you fit this?

It plugs in the back of the accelerator pedal wiring.

I have one fitted to the wifes Mini One. It made a big difference.
Instantaneous response from the throttle.

When my remap was getting done the mapper told me he was doing this, making the throttle a bit sharper, so I suppose if they say its not really cheeky. Does feel nice that you dont have to press the throttle as hard to get a response.

i defo notice a lack of power when doing quick gear changes, this should solve the problem ... im guna give it a go

Sure RobDon ran one of these on his MK1 Leon, infact he's selling it just now.
He loved it, said that it was too sensitive with hit BT set up thats why he's selling it, but from what i've heard from the people that have it, they love them!

this fools the throttle sensor, and fools the driver

what it does is at less angle in the accelerator you will have full open throttle so people thinks the lag is eliminated.

other thing, another electronic system wont eliminate any kind of throttle lag in fact will add more because the signal has to go through other gadget
