ok, get your best estimate hats on peoples

i am going to go look at a 03 plate 210 lcr with 30k that is apparently in vgc at a stealers on saturday. They are getting the car in tommorow on px so they said they cannot give me a price untill they actually get the car.

I am looking to px my my 02 pre facelift 180 cupra which is in immaculate condition with 53k on the clock. both cars have full seat service history.

list price on 3 differant sites comes up very similiar.

new car price from stealers all around the £9,200 area

px on mine varies from £5,700 to £6,000.

basically, the question is , how much do you reckon they are gonna try and shaft me by?

i doubt very much i will get that px price of them and will be suprised if they offer the lcr at that price. but you never know.

so what is every ones guess's , opinions on this then?

oh, and i will be paying the differance in cash if it makes any differance.

tbh that is what i am kinda expecting them to put it at.
when i quized him when i first found iout about it, he said of the top of his head, between 9 and 10 k

problem is i have no willpower, and once i see and test drive the car, i know i will be a sucker for them to shaft!

You could prob get a much better deal!

Think about what the trade in price of the LCR would be. I would guess between 8 - 8.5k. Gives you an idea of what you should be aiming for them to sell it to you at.

tbh i did post upon here hoping that the person was a member of scn, but it doesnt look like they are, so no chance of finding outwhat they were given as px price...

will justgo and see what they come up with. if they talk stoopidmoney, i will have to walk away , even though it will hurt. i so desperately need an lcr!

I got offered 6K for my 02, 34K pre facelift, a couple weeks ago against a 05 plate LCR @ £12.995.

So my guesstimate would be your's with 53k... probably no more than £5-5.5k

I traded my old 02 plate pre-facelift LC with 33k on the clock at a dealer for £6600 against an LCR priced at £13000. This is with knocking a bit off the LCR and adding some onto the LC. It was hard work!!!

This was last December.

This will be a good guide for you - when I went to buy my LCR (just 2 months ago) from a dealer they just had a black LCR come in in ABSOLUTE mint condition, just 25k on the clock on a 03 plate, 1 previous owner for £10,995. (they priced it as I arrived cause I said I may be interested).

I was very tempted, but wanted plat grey so did not go for it, but then I went back to pick the car up 3 weeks later and was told it had sold within 1 week.

Going by that I think dealer price would be same - £10,495 with just a few tho more miles on clock. Bet I am not far off!!!

i hope you are wrong mike!!! but by the sounds of it you might be right....

i have only got £5k absolute max to buy the car with...( i would have had twice that but the thoughtless missus said she wanted a new car....what was wrong with her m reg punto hunk o junk i dont know!!)

looks like i will have to get my best bartering hat on to pull this one off!!!

mike you have scared me. you were a whole 4 pounds out! car was up for £10,499.

as for my car , £5,700 px.

so guess who is the new owner of a shiny red lcr!!!!!

it was in absolute mint condition. not one scratch anywere, alloys were perfect , no kerbing ...all in all wonderfull.

Good stuff! Bet you are well chuffed. Thought I might be a little close, going by the way that other LCR i mentioned flew off the forecourt. Part ex within what you originally thought as well.

When you see a car that is that mint it's difficult to walk away. Especially as you know its been looked after really well.
