Does it matter!

Asuming we share the same enigine and more people are likely to chip a Leon than an Altea?

And with 24238 Leon Post's against 7443 Altea post's to date.

i feel i would get a better response on here.

I had my map done at 5kmiles as i felt would be best to let it run in a little but jabba said doesn't really make any difference apart from you will get lower figures because the engine will still be very tight

Yep correct, many people have had it done straight after driving away from the dealer, like mikey says it doesnt make any difference it just will get a slightly lower figure as its tight, but will loosen up and be just as good as if you waited.

Just do the usual TDI running in (in the TDI FAQ) of letting the oil warm up then drive normally, else you will forever have a tight engine.

Mapping from 0 miles is no problem, just because its mapped, doesn't mean you have to use all the power straight away.

I always tell customers that its best to wait until about 500 miles on the clock, as this allows for any early ''teething'' problems with a new car.

As above, the other day we did a 1 day old 100 mile Megane R26, Just can't really give it loads of stick on a dyno but then again some peoples idea of running in can be alot different!

mikey h you had a remap at 5 k how many miles you car covered now and how is the clutch holding up?i have a remap booked soon and i want to buy new wheels but holding back just incase i need a new clutch

Depends if you plan other mods. If you'll do nothing but the remap, then it doesn't really matter. If you plan doing some hardware changes, but the remap VERY LAST. (or get it done somewhere which will fiddle with the map for free, to account for your mods done)

What do you think of remapping a car with say for example 100k on the clock. ( or more),
So long as the engine is sound, no problem at all - had my Passat done somewhere between 90-100k and it's now on 130k :)

How fast is the r26 after a remap.

Not got any official times but when our car went up against an R26 pushing similar power to a mapped R26 (if that makes sense) The 0-60 was 1 second faster and 0-100 was 3 seconds faster. All without an LSD :)

As for tuning a car with 100k+ providing it's mechanicaly sound then there will be no other issues to tuning a 50k vehicle.

Cheers
