Whining noise on bocanegra

my mate has a bocanegra and he says when he drives it he can hear a whining noise does anyone know what this is or has anyone had there car do this

That'll be the supercharger

he thought it was but its doing it at around 10 - 20mph and feathering the accelorater could it be that

I love the sound of the supercharger.

To get to my house u have to go over speed bumps and u can hear it then, i love it

Ive been to the dealers with what might be same problem! - Both me and the SEAT Mechanic who went on a drive with me to hear it agreed it is NOT the supercharger whine.

The sound your mate has (if its like mine) is more of a groany whine. Only happens when decelerating on overun and at low speeds i.e when coming up to a junction or feathering the throttle going round a roundabout. Its f**ing annoying and sounds crap!!

Its worst by far in sports mode! Could it be the transmission rather than the engine ????

They havent been able to identify what the cause is still despite over 4 days looking at itl!!!! Suggest your mate takes it back to the dealer for them to have a look at! Would like to get a second opinion myself!

I have the same noise and was always unsure if it was the supercharger or not, it doesn't sound great. It does sound like the transmission to me, like what u hear on older cars when something’s on its way out just no quite as load. Maybe I should take mine in then to if it’s not supposed to be sounding like that.

Same as Danny when you back th epower off mine is like a rattle like something is not under load or a loose rattling noise. Noticed it a couple of times this week with the windows down on the car going over traffic calmers
