recently purchased a lcr 225 but now and again mainly when the car has rested, there are some metal clunking sounds from either the steering or brakes when setting off slowly.very sort of notchy sounds.hard to explain but sounds odd.anyone else experienced anything similar?

Its common mate, its the brakes (particuarly the rears) they clunk when setting off. Usually its worse/more noticable when the discs are wet.

mine does it. its worse on cobble roads etc. thought it was maybe droplink or strut top. it doesnt do it going over speed humps though. booked in at dealers next week. i'll let you know what they say.

In this weather it could also be the pads rusting onto the disks. Happens overnight on mine, specially once they get salt on the roads. Helps if you can leave the handbreak off and then press the pedal hard a few timed before setting off.

yeah mainly in reverse but now again in drive.thought it might be serious but seems to be a common problem.cheers
