Am I right in thinking that a MK4 Golf armrest would fit in a MK1 Leon?

I just want to make sure before I buy a MK4 Golf armrest for my MK1 Leon

I am also presuming the coin tray in the Leon would have to be cut out in order for it to fit?

Could I ask a favour and ask what the measurement of the length of the armrest is?

After buying, fitting and selling a genuine Recaro leather armrest with my old R32, I am reluctant to spend the same for my battered Leon.

I am looking at the £30 ones on eBay. I don't suppose they'll be all that good, but the armrest is strictly for functionality purposes.

Some are 27cm long, and another is listed as 44cm. I presume this is the length of the top section where your arm sits.

If you wouldn't mind measuring yours I would be really grateful!

I'd love an arm rest but the only thing that puts me off is the fact you have to cut holes to fit it :(

You only lose the rear coin tray and I am fairly sure you could buy a rubber insert if you ever wanted to remove the armrest, although I am not sure why you would after fitting one!

Yea sorry it's this one
Ebay 251900628986

Cheers. A bit more expensive but it looks a lot better than the £30 ones I was looking at.

I presume it fits in the same way? Cut out the coin tray and bolt it underneath?

Cut the tray out and it bolts in to the plastic console not the car but it's perfectly strong and stable

Yes it will fit in the Leon, I recently fitted one in my LCR.

You do need to cut out the coin tray. The hole needs to be bigger than the coin tray itself though so you will then need to cut a bit more out all round. Be very carefull and take your time only cutting little bits at a time.

It would be very easy to mess it up, I spent over a hour cutting the hole out but it looks factory.

If it doesn't come with a fitting kit including the top hat bolt, dont attempt to fit it until you have it.

Should have took pics when cutting it out.

Might get one for mines

I was too busy swearing and bashing my hands up!

Also, my car is battered, so I wasn't aiming for a factory look finish.

I'm very happy with the outcome, but I perhaps wouldn't think that if I had a nice looking car.

I doubt the finish would go down well on here!

Is posting photos on this forum easy? I'll upload a few if it would help?
