Will Leon get the 1.5 engine

Hi guys,

I ordered a 1.4 Leon a few weeks ago, and had recently found out that there is a new 1.5 engine now offered in Ibiza, and some other VAG cars. I did the research and it seems that this would be the engine to have, even though it apparently has the same power as the 1.4. The articles say that 1.5 is replacing the 1.4. Are they now producing the both engines at the same time for different cars, or are the configurators not updated yet? Since I probably won't get my car for quite some time, can I expect to get the 1.5 or will it be the 1.4?

Do you guys have any information about it?

You'll get the engine you ordered I'd imagine. I've said a few time's that due to the long wait for the 1.4 it would make more sense to wait for the 1.5.

It seems that Vw messed up with the transition between the 2, running the stock down on the 1.4 before before they'd built up enough 1.5 stock to offer it to the other cars

Yeah SEAT are the last to get it as even Skoda have had it for a while now, although I read a couple of reviews that indicated that the reviewers felt the existing 1.4 was slightly better in terms of performance, what the 1.5 brings (I think) are slightly better emissions and consumption.

My dealer told me yesterday the 1.4 tsi 150 engines are very well sold in europe and there have been delays

That is what is confusing me a little. This would probably mean that they are still producing the 1.4. They could not have enough on stock for all this demand, and no delays in that case. So if 1.5 is replacing it, why would they still produce the 1.4 for these cars? And 1.5 is out for a while now. I couldn't find any articles about this situation and I'll also contact my dealer to see if he has any information about it. I guess the 1.5 could be reserved for car updates, like the new Ibiza.

Guessing that much of the 1.4 production has moved across to the 1.5 leaving less resource for the 1.4.
