can someone tell me how to set 2010 leon so that windows close automatically when raining..
i'm hearing conflicting report on weather this actually works or not..
Can someone tell me step by step instructions if this is possible with vagcom as i have it and so I can get it to work.
Any help would be greatfully recieved.

I've got it working.
For those of you who want to know how to do it, this is how I got it to work

1.... Enable on vagcom
2.... Leave wiper stalk on position 1
3.... Lock car with windows open. Push lock button twice so that the alarm doesn't go off as this disables interior movement sensors.
4....Leave for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes wait for it to rain and as soon as wiper sensor detects water the windows will close.

Please not that you might not have to wait 2 minutes for it to rain in UK.....lol

if you go on to your vcds and have rain sensor as standard on your Facelift car then you can activate the box on your MFD that you can tick for rain closing and thats it, just a box! In 3 years I could not get it to work, strangely though this does work fine on a skoda yeti :)

Did you have a pre-facelift Mk2 Leon?

There is certainly no "Rain Closure" option in the MFD of the Facelift Mk2 Leon like that picture of a Golf MFD is showing.

Likewise, there is no "Tourist Mode" option in the MFD of the Facelift Mk2 Leon to temporarily disable AFS and alter the headlamp beam when you go abroad like there is on some of the Skodas.

There is no "ATA" setting present on the facelift either.

It seems to depend on the marque/year as to what options you actually get in the MFD.

You can of course enable some of these options using VCDS but it's a shame you can't just do it via the convienience of the MFD like you can on some of the VAG cars.

It was a 2010 fl and I did have box but could never get it to work. Obviously the link is to a mk6 golf but it's still the same white writing mfd and not the red of the prefl which I also had but didn't know about rain closure so never investigated

Once the alarm beep is activated on vcds you gain the ATA option on the mfd.
This is on 2010 FR
Haven't tried the rain closure yet

That's interesting. So it sounds like whatever coding you did was to enable the MFD menu item, not to enable ATA (which you can then do through the MFD once you actually have that menu item available?).

Does the new tick box item on your MFD actually turn the ATA on and off?

What VCDS long coding option(s) did you actually tick / untick to do this? Do you have any screenshots? Unfortunately the screenshots on the tyre smoke forum appear to have long since gone.

I would love to get the "Tourist Mode" option and maybe the "Rain Closure" items into the MFD on mine so maybe that would be some similar coding option as are done to make the ATA menu item available.

I haven't got any pictures I'm afraid but yes if you untick the ATA it doesn't beep when locking.
There's a full page on here showing what can be done and how to do it with vcds.
This should help

Yeah, had a look through that thread before I got my cable but nothing about Tourist Mode or specifically getting options into the MFD. Although the GTI guide suggests it can be done for the Golf and GrahamFR appears to have had it in his Leon, I've read more than one source stating that either no MFD option appears as per terminator2000 or it doesn't seem to do anything as per GrahamFR.

I guess there is only one way to find out and that is to just have a play around myself once the weather stops being so miserable.

Finger/eye coordination works fine for me every time. See rain on window (using eye) close any open window with Seat's thoughtfully provided switch close to hand in door ( using finger)
Hint:you may also have to activate wipers using the usefully provided stalk adjacent to the round steering thingy. :D
