Ok guys, my engine wobbles about loads, especially on the right hand side.

What could be at fault and how easy is it to sort out?

Thanks

possible engine mounts but more of a description would be required :D

right hand side when looking at it, or on the right when sitting in the car?
could be the aux belt tensioner

Right hand side when looking at the engine.

If I grab hold of it and shake it, the engine rocks front to back, especially on the right hand side. I think it also moves slightly front to back at the bottom

Also, you can feel it rocking back and forwards when sitting in the car with the engine running though sometimes more noticeable than others.

its the rear lower mount on the gear box which bolts to the subframe at the back.

Ok thanks. How easy are engine mounts to replace and also, are there any engine stabilisers at the top of the engine anywhere?

2 top mounts, one on the timing belt end, the other on the gear box end and ofcourse the dog bone mount, there are no top stabilizer bars. About an hours work on a set of stands and a jack.

Where can I get them from? Any idea on a price? If they arent tooo much, sounds like I might be just as well doing the lot!

While I'm at it, are there any others that I could do ie roll bars etc?

THS performance sell all 3 as a kit called the fr3 kit and its highly rated by people on here over others available. its about £200 but well worth it, the other bushes are up to you mate - there are quite a few!

youch! didnt realise they were that expensive! Is there a cheaper alternative that you know of? Guess stealers are top notch. Would GSF have something?

To be honest mate - for the money there is no better alternative. GSF show 2 at £30 each, on ebay they range from £40 to £75 for one.

no problem mate, i only preach for the ths ones because i have them :D
I'm not dead just keeping a low profile - chamone!

I knew elvis isn't dead (I heard him on the radio) but its good to know that you aren't dead too!

And Antnee, thanks alot, I might be tempted now!

I know I am! Some time in the new year I plan on getting them myself. I don't know what the full advantages would be on yours but I know my car suffers with really bad wheel-bounce under acceleration from low speed, and everyone says that these mounts help no end

Well other than the wobbling engine and annoying rocking sensation as a result, i do get a degree of wheel bouce also. Just emailed them asking if any discounts are available.....better off hearing it from the horses mouth so-to-speak
