What up! The name's Serum.
I purchased my first Seat Leon a few months back and am pretty happy with my decision so far. I own a 2013 Leon FR Mk3/5f 1.4 pre-facelift with 140ps (138 HP I think).
Ever since I was 14 I have wanted to join the import/tuning scene. This is due to growing up in California where aftermarket parts seemed to grow on cars like leaves on bushes. And like leaves on bushes a lot of the modified rides grew wildly (by wildly I mean RICED out to the max). I was introduced to a car crew by a friend/neighbor in which all the members were Tuners and had magazine quality rides. This peaked my interests, but only as far as appearances were concerned because engines have never been something I was into.
My FR will become my project car. I have plans and visions, but unfortunately lack the funds (my kids come first) to have professionals complete my transformation. I think that working on my FR will be fun and I hope to get my oldest son (almost 9 years old) interested in the scene as well. Especially since I hope to pass down my ride to him when he comes of age. Plus, I think I would feel more satisfied if I do the modifications myself (with my son's helping hand of course). That is if I am successful in my endeavors and the vision I have in my mind becomes reality.
See, this is where you come in. I am an absolute noob to this whole DIY thing. I know what you're thinking: "But wait. Didn't you mention you were around a car crew whose members had "Magazine Quality" cars?" Well yes. Yes I did. But those guys and gals also had the funds to take their rides to professionals. So, again, this is why I am here: seeking guidance and advice so I don't have an unkempt bush, but rather a neatly manscaped ride to show the world. Because really, who likes an unkempt bush?
Thanks for taking the time to read my introduction. I will be posting more threads with questions as soon as I am done searching existing threads for answers and/or whenever I make modifications. Thanks again.
