Hi Guys,
My Altea is chewing rear tires and I'm told it's not the tracking and that it is the Camber, are 04 rear camber angles adjustable? I'm told it's out by about a degree.....
What would cause them to be knocked out?
Cheers for your help!!
Gavin

you may need to get all wheels aligned professionally. quote is from central Tyres in Belfast...

There are two main types of 4-wheel alignments. In each case, the technician will place an instrument on all four wheels. In the first type the rear toe and tracking is checked, but all adjustments are made at the front wheels. This is done on vehicles that do not have adjustments on the rear. The second type is a full 4-wheel alignment where the adjustments are first made to true-up the rear alignment, then the front is adjusted. A full 4-wheel alignment will cost more than the other type because there is more work involved.

hope you get it sorted soon.

rear camber and covergence can both be adjusted by two bolts. A decent alignment specialist will know which bolts (its on ElsaWin)

This is the same problem I'm having with mine. The annoying thing is that it was "adjusted" a year ago when it went to the Seat stealer. It is much worse than it was before, so going to use someone decent this time.
Flipping annoying when you consider how much tyres cost.

lol my Altea has come out in simpathy. slight whinging noise at 60+mph. either bearing it going on the LHR or the wheel camber needs adjusted. getting Eibach springs fitted on monday so will get 4 wheel alignment after thats done.

I'm booked in for thursday for alignment! its gone way off since lowering, not a single wheel looks the same!
But on the standard settings VAG group cars had more camber on the left rear for some reason  Since 06 i think the factory settings changed! This is purely what my Alignment guy had read somewhere though!

Toxic, the whining is your tyres 'feathering' on the inside edge i would bet! My last set went like this due to the camber coupled with the larger section width, 2005 changed to 225.
