Hi everyone peeps as per the title no I'm not interested in your personal hygiene:) I'm referring to the car do you wash it yourself ? use local auto car wash? take it to one of the many hand car wash type thingys?
for me its hand wash myself only used one of those hand wash places once when it was well scruffy over the winter months for the price wish I'd not. Don't think you're going to get a good job with mucky water what they've been using all day & just washed local farmers ****'d up disco with

I wash my MINI myself Snowfoam, Jetwash & 2 bucket method. My SEAT is a daily sometimes I'll wash it (if I have time and i'm doing the MINI anyway makes sense). Mostly it goes to the local Hand Car wash but one where they use a Jetwash not some Filthy water in a Bucket

Took mine to SEAT this week for the cambelt, went in with a little bit of dustiness to it, came back f'ing filthy after they washed it.

If I had known they would wash it I would have said don't bother.

Yeah, and not to mention all the new swirl marks from the standard sponges they use and the filthy gritty water that probably sits in those buckets for a good few cars before they change it.

Most dealers generally always wash your car when it goes in for a service unless you explicitly tell them not to. They think they're providing a better level of customer service and are doing you a favour but they're not.

Watch this and weep: https://youtu.be/UHFwkFTKtMw

The only people you should ever let anywhere near your car to wash it is either you (with the proper type of wash kit), or a professional detailer.

Wasn't expecting a wash as it wasn't a service per se, just cambelt which was listed under maintenance.

It'll be the last time seat touch it in my time (I hope).

I bought a karcher machine, only prob is I live in a block of flats, need to haul out my 50m hose and 50m electric extension. Need to find someone on lower floor who I can pay a small fee to plug into their electricity and water

Have you got the foam attachment for it too? That's the best bit - only problem is it proper drinks the foam.

Yes, I think I get carried away with the foam, and then it's a pain to get it all off

Or in my case, the neighbors it's tripping over it, or complaining about all the foam.
