Hi guys.

I've started the conversion to the afternmarket ECU. But I'm stuck on the identity of one of the connectors.

It is the only one that has a siver rubber cover.

It is near the speed sensor.

And pin colours are :purple/White, Brown, Yellow/Black.

It's don't seem to be in the Bentley manual.

Could it be oil level sensor?

Thanks in advance.

Hi mate.

The part number is 1J0973703. It tails off from the speedo sensor wire with the protective pad on it.

Altitude sensor is another thought I had.

looking at the diagram it appears to be one of 2 that branch out together

your number is listed as 3 pin and for the speed sensor

the one next to it is listed 1J0973702 as 2 pin for coolant temp gauge sender and/or knock sensor

Hi mate.

Yes the speedo and this connector have the same part number.

I've taken a picture. But can't post a URL until I have posted more than 15 posts.

So I'll PM you the link.:)

Yep, that's the oil level sensor lower right, it's got heat shielding where it runs under the turbo.

Thanks for that mate. Don't need it for the ECU wiring.:)

Just for curiousity, is the sensor it usually plugs into, in the sump?

Here is engine. I'm not with the car at the minute so can't check physically.
