Engine management - airflow

hi all
just a quick one, had both the engine management light and the little triangle light below it on, on my 2001 ibiza cupra??? Plugged it in to the diagnostics and it said air flow meter. Bought a new airflow meter and fitted it at work today. Started the engine up and the car was lumpy as hell, so put the old one back in and it was fine. so cant be that.

anyone else had similar probs?

Whats next, cant be the air flow meter? any ideas its driving me mad.

have u fitted new maf and then cleared the fault codes afterwards.

has it put the car into limp mode ie wont rev over certain rpm

yea from wat u said in first post bout tcs light being on aswell it sounds like maf

hmmm i think they are reconditioned possibly (hence on exchange basis from euro car parts anyway) could just be faulty one take it back get another one mate

yeah i'm going to have to swap it around tomorrow when i get a new one. fingers crossed?

Did this work mate?

Mine is a bit lumpy at the minute with irratic revs (Dies sometimes at a juction) but I have no lights or anything.

Happens when warm and cold.

the sensor part number should end 040 not 049
you can only see the sensor part number if you remove it from its housing however
