guys... i'm really so worried now.

so as i parked my car which was a slight uphill, then got out whilst leaving the engine running to go to the boot...

...all of a sudden i hear this gear grating noise that occurred a few times.
i looked to see where it came from... then saw (was standing behind my car with the boot open) my gear lever moving up and down whilst carrying on with noise.
ran to the front with every intention of stopping it, although it was too late, it had stopped.

played around with the gears with my clutch in...all seemed fine.

has this happened to anybody?
is it cause i wasn't completely out of gear when i stopped the car?
does the uphill affect it as it seemed to be knocking 4th gear the whole time?

thanx,
RodneyA

if you dont completely get neutral i have seen it happen which is easy with pudding bowl change on mine - lol

the vibration is probably the selector bouncing off the gear tryin to slot in

is your reall light and easy to select gears ?

it is pretty easy to gear select.
never really had to struggle except this one time where i couldn't select 1st...had to put it into 2nd to get back to 1st.
took it in to have the gear linkages adjusted and lubricated...all has been fine till now.

so you reckon i wasn't in neutral properly?

thanx,

it's possible considering it's a light gate and on a hill etc and not entirely implausible in reality

one of those twilight zone things

if it was anything out of line or loose or worn it will get worse so keep ya eyes peeled
