Its never been confirmed or denied yet mate as i dont think a 210 AMK has been stripped down yet. I dont even think jabba know themselves:D

The AMK was only released for a short time and it was thought that it was made up of the last batch of the stronger rods before the BAM was introduced.

Except for when it was stuffed in all teh S3's

Part numbers I've seen say that AMK rods and BAM rods are both the same, in fact same as the rest of the 1.8Ts

By 1mm lol, its the pins which i think are larger. 20mm as opposed to 19mm, or is it 19mm as opposed to 18mm lol:D

Engine will be fine with this turbo, im sure:)

Both BAM and AMK have 20x62mm pins.

Still nothing heard yet guys :(

No reply from Jacob yesterday so i have sent him another email:)

Yumman... So both AMK/BAM engines are identical, and are these engines identical to the old S3/Ibiza engines that supposedly have the stronger rods?

Or is it the actual thickness of the rods and not the pin size?

Only going from what Sie has told me, ive not seen any logging as of yet.

Chipped cars are running 1.55bar at the moment, im sure he says 1.8bar max with 1.4 flow at red line! (Or that is what it is capable of)

Im sure Sie, will confirm/deny this when he comes on:)

Power levels of 315-320bhp max so surely no need for internals Bill?

Its not the power levels, its the amount of shove into the cylinders to achieve them.... high cylinder pressures.

I know some early mapping on LCR's resulted in too high a boost level, and the result was rods sticking out of blocks.... and these were no where near 300bhp power figures before they let go.

You need to be thinking airflow, not just boost.

Something to consider anyhows... its your engines at the end of the day to do with as you so wish.

It will probably be a couple of days before we get a price on this guys.

I heard from him this morning and he is trying to source all the parts before committing to a deal. He doesnt want to give us a deal only to be let down by the supply of the parts.
He was going off to his bed and said he should hopefully hear from his suppliers in the morning so i probably wont hear anything for a couple of days now:rolleyes: But i will keep you informed:)

Bill, i dont think jabba would map it too aggressively in order for the engine to spit out a rod. Sie's 1.8bar is just a spike i think 1.6 bar holding will be good:)

won't 1.6 bar be beyond the MAP sensor's control?

So it *could* be doing anything and the ECU thinks it's 1.55bar flatline

It's apparently capable of 1.8bar spike.

I'm sure stock remaps take standard turbos up to about 23/24 psi.

I mentioned in that other thread about changing to a 3 bar MAP, just depends on what your chosen tuner can do, I guess. I'd want one in there.

If you're thinking of getting one of these turbos, just make sure you know what you're getting into...

I'd also be interested (not right this minute though) depending on what Revo say about mapping it/how much that is going to cost.

Revo won't do it - they're not into individual custom mapping. I spoke to Kev this morning out of interest, because I didn't really know how Stage 3 worked.

I suppose you could go to Revo Stage 3 for a similar turbo and hope for the best.
