Problems on my TDI 110 have been:

Air Mass Meter failing at about 75k and aux belt tensioner making a grinding noise for the first few minutes after starting from cold. Replacing it solved the problem for a while but it's starting to make a noise again...

Only other problem has been one of the headlight levelling widgets failing.

It seems to be slightly thirstier than it used to be now though...

I had plans of chipping it, fitting a centre arm rest and cruise control but 60k miles and 3 years have flown past and I've never quite got round to it. The iPod to CD-changer interface I fitted has been brilliant though.

Hi, sort of new here (was a member years ago with my kiwi beeza) anyway...my 110 is on 84k, had it since 6k, problems:

new alternator about 5k ago,
sticky turbo (pretty constant),
all brake discs replaced at 30k (warped),
I'm on my third engine undertray
the usual water leaks from the outside
the usual water leaks from the inside
brake switch
i think the exhaust is going (checking it in the morning)
cup holder gets stuck in.
de mister is crap
has wierd over run rattle
and everyone who parks next to it feels duty bound to hit it in some way (both rear doors and boot damaged)

other than that lot, can't complain really. It took me, the wife and little 'un to the alps and back last summer with no problems (actually the long run fixed the turbo for a while)

Dunno what happened to this site but couldnt connect earlier !
anyways in answer to asthpsw yes it is only driven about 2 miles a day back and forward to work but at the w/end its given a good blast up the road and i mean near license taking away blast (driving me nuts having to do it) and no its not used supermarket fuel after the first clean so its really an embugerance.
It seems its such a nice car shame to have to get rid of just because it clogs up but in this present climate i really might have to let it go!
In answer to the Innotec bit no i havent tried that but as it is done so very often i am amazed no one has taken pictures on how to do it!
Yes i know its done from underneath, but a picture paints a thousand words.Yes i am a mechanic, but an Aircraft one and things tend to be a little bit easier to do lol

Nah dont think so as it registered no my mates vw checker the following fault
17965 p1557 charge pressure contr. positive deviation
which means i will give Kernow FR a ring as he has kindly offered his diagnostics down here in Cornwall
P.s Cats out the bag now Kernow FR so i will give you a ring next week ok?
pps on a side note took it out tonite for a blast and when warming up enterred limp mode, stopped car and retried later on when warm no problems whatever 3,500 revis in 3rd saw around about 70-75 change up and 4th past 3,500 still pulling and tried it in 4 different places no limp mode , now this really is weird!
lol

TDI Sport 110 CV ASV motor 280000Km´s (portugal)
I bought the can new in 2002 and so far no real problems.
MAF sensor changed, 1 baterie, driving box and heat bolts.
Biggest thing was at 90000Kms changed clutch system and flyweel, boucht Sach Kit, still running (but need some to be changed by know)
Other than that just normal service :D

At 180000 was remaped, and at 205000 fitted Ibiza Cupra FMIC, Fratelli Bossio PP502 nozzles, GT1749V was fited with GT2052V compressor side, bigger exaust line was also fitted, electronics ajusted :D

This week was fitted with bigger fuel nozzles, and next will be a bigger turbo and downpipe :funk:

Know it´s needing Clutch, and suspension chocks

Went and saw Dave yesterday errumm KernowFR i mean, thanks mate what a great guy anybody needing a diagnostic in west cornwal get in touch he confirmed my snag of 17965 - Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation
P1557 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
which as I and he thought that yes vanes were sticking again, oh well here we go again lol, on a better note he showed me his work on his 2008 Sportrider With Dte Diesel Tuning Box & k&N Panel Filter, boy does that thing go certainly was a push your back in the seat job, wish the wife would have the Leon done! (but truth is she coudnt handle it as Jack Nicholson would say!) So if you like Tuning maybe you ought to give him an e-mail as well.
Thanks Dave will keep in touch

2001 Ibiza TDi 110, bought 6 months or so ago with 64,000 on the clock.
That probably explains the sticky vanes sometimes & limp mode - loads of short journeys I think.
Other than some pretty big problems starting it when it was warm for a little while, until I gave it a couple of thorough services, it seems to be okay. Idles pretty rough though, certainly more so than the Leon TDi 110 I had a little while before.

Does anyone know is there a different "map" used when the Cruise Control is engaged ?.............the reason I ask is that I "exercise" the vanes in the Turbo as often as I can (mainly on steep hills so that I can get the full range of movement of the vanes) then I thought that I'd try the "+" (increase speed) on the Cruise control stalk. So I accelerated up a hill by pusshing the throttle to the floor, then pulled the "+" on the cruise control, released the accelarator pedal and indeed it was like I had a "push to pass" button !!!! It suddely had a burst of more power...............this only seems to work up hills.

The reason I wondered re the "+" Control is because I understand when the Cruise control is engaged an you reach a hill to maintain speed it goes into WOT........hence the Fuel Consumption goes up. (I've proved this when climbing a steep hill, if I disenagage Cruise control & maintain the same speed using my right foot I get better MPG)/

110 tdi se

So far ive had the following problems with the above car but have had ownership of the car for 3 and a hlf years.

-Water leak in the driver side footwell.
-Turbos been gone and been reconditioned.
-Front driver suspension going , (Currently on 91k but thats expected, plus i have coilovers so no real worry it just sweaks when braking and accelerating)
-Im getting a knocking noise coming from the driver side axel, neva had this problem till i changed both front axels, but hav checked that all nuts and bolts are tightened:confused:
-Central locking not working.
-glove box handel broke, fell off.
-when the wipers are turned on the relay switch can be heard evertime the wiper sets down.
-brake light (driverside) blubs always on the way out.[:@]
-never seen the fan working since ive owned it.
-im sure it ain't as fast as it us to be (vanes)
-doors dont lock when moving off anymore.
-the red illuminated climate contol unit doesnt light up (along with the window switches on the doors) have to play with the key barrel (few times:cry:) in order to sort this, can be a bA**** at nite if it doesnt come on, feels like another car.

Apart from these minors the car sweet. LOL:-o

No major problems with my 2003 TDI 110...

Apart from

* Wishbones front driver and passenger side replaced
* Front discs and pads done
* Rear discs and pads need doing
* Getting around 460 miles to full tank, I'm sure that it can do much better!

As this is my first TDI i'm not quite sure what you guys mean by limp mode when you talk about the turbo's performance? Mine kicks in full whack at around 2,000rpm and when I keep her floored I bang up through the gears no problem. Also when cruising all she needs to over-take is a little nudge on the pedal and she shoots past! How I love this car!!!

Limp mode is very noticable take that kick u get at 2,00 RPM and remove it. Mine has been bad for last 9months but I have had 7-8 1 hour plus trips that seem to have sorted it alot.

Thanks :) Actually now that you say it I have noticed after 2 very long trips (400 miles) my boost is a bit more pokey than before!
