Anyone have a car ordered for the 1st March?
If so what is it and how long have you been waiting.

Iv been waiting since december for a 2.0 fr tfsi and feels like a lifetime.

I gave up a 5 year smoking habit to be able to afford this car!:funk:

Mine has been ordered for March 1st, but my current car isnt going til the 2nd, so have to pick it up on the 3rd..... had my FR TDi ordered since the beginning of Jan. It wasn't a factory order, it was one of the "spares" they were building, hence not having to wait 12-14 weeks.

Really can't wait now ...... keep seeing more Leons on the road (only 2 Frs though!).

I ordered a TFSi early Jan in Red with 18's and no other options. I said I wanted it for march 1st but could have had it sooner. I don't think there was a problem with standard red and the 18's.

I have to take my current car the day before as the Tax and MOT are due on the 1st so i wouldn't be legal. knowing my luck something would happen if I did drive it.

Can't wait.

I ordered mine on Oct 9th last year and it was only delivered to the dealer yesterday, I think the long wait was something to do with the fact I ordered all the options available (except Sat Nav and Ipod).

After all the waiting I now can't pick it up until the 2nd March as I'm working in Scotland on the 1st so can't get there until the 2nd!:(

Ordered a red Leon FR TDi with 18 inch wheels on the 3rd of February. Saw the car yesterday at the dealer, all waiting to go! Can't wait!!

My husband also ordered his new car on the 3rd of February. He is getting a red Ibiza 1.2 Reference Sport - bless him!!

I pick my 1.9TDI Stylance up on the 1st. I went with Bluetooth, Ipod Kit, Winter Pack, Black Metallic paint and got three years/30,000miles servicing thrown in for less than the list price. I haggled like mad and they bent. Really looking forward to it and leaving the old uncomfortable, basic yet reliable, Lanos behind.

Seems like a lot of people buying from dealers, me and 3 members of my family have bought cars online with no problems and saved approx £1000 per car which none of the dealers could match. Anyone had any bad experiences buying online?

Iv just hijacked my own thread:doh:

I got some quotes online and the dealer ended up matching it (well slighty more expensive, but the same when I took in to account the cost of delivery or travelling to pick up the new car).

Interesting, most of us others have to wait for a few months yet. Did you order any options?

Yes - they aren't supposed to be being built until the end of March for UK orders. There may be some spare pov spec models around at launch - but that's with no options whatsoever and would be effectively be luck of the draw.

That's what I thought Scott. But what do you mean 'pov spec' models, and when you say luck of the draw, do you mean lucky to get one, or do you mean you may end up with a lemon as it is from the first batch built and may experience initial teething problems? Thanks, Stuart

I e-mailed Seat head office a while back saying I was disappointed that for a "1st March launch car" it seemed silly that orders would not arrive until June/July which is what we were originally told. Now it's looking like April/May.

Anyway, this was the response:

"Thank you for your recent e-mail dated 30th January 2007, regarding the delivery of your SEAT Cupra.

I must apologise on behalf of SEAT UK for the delay of your much anticipated vehicle. I can understand your confusion and upset due to differing information of when you could expect to take delivery of it.

After talking to SEAT UK's Dealer Operations Department, I can confirm that due to the nature of the build, there is limited factory production for this particular vehicle. SEAT UK are only allocated so many build slots during the quota opening periods.

If a customer wants a standard model with no options there is a chance that we may be able to supply a vehicle earlier after the initial one per dealer. However as you are requiring specific options the earliest build week will be in May. "

P.S. for the record I didn't say I was upset! (he just probably know's how obsessed I am from my posts on here) ;)
