After reading your thread from start to finish, i would like to say that your car looks bloody brilliant.. I have been put off the whole 'Cupra Bumpers' by the £££'s.. The way you have done it is quality.. Is there a thread on how to code the mirrors? Having only passed my test a little over a month ago, and an ibiza chill being my first motor, I'm new to this..

Another thing I would like to ask is... Is there a SereMotors in England, because it sounds like you rely on that place, and I would love to follow in your footsteps lol..

Anything you could help me on would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks
Jordan

Thanks for the kind words :)

I did come across a thread recently in the mk3 section of the forum about colour coding mirrors but I can't find it at the minute. If i do find it ill pass on the link.

Congrats on passing your test - I think the Ibiza a great car to start off in - well equipped and not bad looking - especially once you've done a few mods.

SERE don't have any branches in England but they are on the forum and do deliver all over the UK, definetly one of the best dealers around.

You should probably check out Owen's thread here http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=186805 he has a 1.4 chill and went down a similar route as myself with the styling.

Have fun with the modding an if you have any questions just ask :)

Did you fix the rear wash wiper?? Mine was leaking in the boot too (although I didin't know it at the time) Boot was wet through and when I checked the pipe has come loose behind the rear lights. Easy fixed.

Love the front bumper. I have a 1.4S. Bog standard :(

Yeh I got it fixed :) took the boot lining off, thinking it was coming from there, did a few squirts of the washer jet and didn't see any leaks, looked at the boot and it was still wet, then i realised the pipe had actually came off just behind the rear lights - where it joins a L shaped connector.

New Car

As some of you will know, the thought of changing the Ibiza has been on my mind for a while, given my increased motorway miles it's just not fast enough or economical.

So back in December I ordered this:

Picked it up last weekend and love it to bits!

It's a 1.6 TDI with a few extras, cruise control, bluetooth, usb/aux, convienence pack and fold-in mirrors.

Will take some more pics at the weekend - allready have a few mods planned :p

Yeh everyone on the forum seems to have gone for white, and all the standard ones i meet on the road seem to be the horrible green citrus colour.

Maybe red will be kinda rare this time round, there was no shortage of red mk3's!

Thanks, to be honest it doesn't even compare to the old one, interior quality it streets ahead, and the accelleration is mental, coming from a 60hp 1.4

A remap will definetly be on the cards, once she's well run in and the warranty will be less of an issue.

The mk5 looks great mate. Looks amazing in red!!!

You enjoying it so far??

Absolutly loving it!

It's averaging 49-50MPG and is so much nicer to drive than my old one, as great as the Cupra suspension was for cornering, it did ruin the overall ride quality.

Speaking of the old car I sold it on saturday - will miss it, had it for 3 years and it never gave any trouble! I left the SeatCupra.net sticker on the back window so the new owner might come along.

I'm off work for the rest of the week from Wednesday so I plan to get it washed and waxed and give it a proper going over! All it's gotten so far was a quick rinse yesterday...

Will get some decent pics up as well once it's looking it's best :)

Yeh - it definately tidies up the front end.

Barely had the car a month and have quite a few plans now:
  • Spoiler from the aero kit
  • Sideskirts (maybe)
  • Replace all the interior lights and the number plate ones with LEDs
  • Lower
  • Stubby aerial
  • Get the wheels done in Titanium gray
  • A remap is on the cards, though I don't know of any for the 1.6 CR TDI yet

Sold the old one a couple of weeks ago :( kinda miss it cos it was pretty unique. But hopefully with time I'll have this one looking as good.

I'm guessing from you username you've got a 1.4 Chill?

I were getting a Mk3 1.4 Chill but ended up with a Mk4 facelift 1.2, not really complaining lol
