Well thats the difference, your claim was already proven to be the 3rd oarty at fault, while you were phoning around for a new quote (contradicted yourself within Two sentences)!

It could happen, if Insurance renewal was due before the Claim was at the stage where the driver at fault was ascertained. If the 3rd party admitted liability at the scence then no worries - but how often does that happen (unless its blatantly obvious).

Not really. You can get the car fixed before liability has been ascertained...

Not even slightly  Just can't imagine how it was hit to send it at such and angle and hardly damage the paint.

Tis painful to look at :(

That's what I'm trying to work out.

The other car has hit it hard enough to get inside the arch and force the wheel out like that

only one party at fault here and it ain't the car parked up.

Golden rule of accidents. if it's someone elses fault, you claim on their insurance and make sure you get a courtesy car at her expense. Your no claims shouldn't be affected, but try and find the extra money next time around to protect your NCD just incase.
Hope it gets sorted soon. You could always arrenge MT to take you/lend you a vehicle for your course. I always try and get my work to provide a car when i'm on courses.
good luck with it all

My insurance is protected :) but had heard that it can still affect my insurance even though it blatantly wasn't my fault. I know i'm a female - but i can actually park with my wheels straight to the curb.

Glad its protected. looks like you got some pics, and its obvious the car can't be driven, so you should be ok as far the blame is concerned.
If she isn't insured on her B/F's car, i'd allow her BF to claim liability so the insurance pay up, otherwise you could end up with more hassle and delays by making her cough up.
i had someone back into my old car, so took it do the dealers for a quote. they quoted a whole new rear bumper at £500 for a few minor scratches. He opted for insurance to pay up, and it was sorted in no time and my claims and premuims stayed the same.

Ah dear honey, its not good is it? :( Car on the outside looks fine, a few scrapes on the edge of the bumper and the bottom of the wing that will need sorting. The main damage seems to be the track rod, and possibly the steering rack, there also seems to be some slight damage to the inside of the alloy (fresh metal scrape/damage) so possibly need that sorting aswell. The drivers side wheels is straight, as she always parks so that both wheels are straight. Im guessing the reason she has twatted the wheel and bent it that far is possibly due to the angle that her car hit it, i looked on the tyre and couldnt really see any contact marks on it. The wheel has been shoved right back though and is touching the arch lining.

We have a mechanic coming around tomorrow to have a look at it, but i would guess, along with the spraying its not gonna be under £500 so i would say she is gonna opt to have it done under her bf insurance.

But if worst comes to the worst honey you can always borrow my car ;) as your on my insurance :)

A few years ago I had a "no fault accident" when someone hit my car whilst it was parked.
I wasn't there when it happened but luckily 2 witnesses gave me some details when I got back to the car.
My insurance company (Churchill as I recall) provided a courtesy car the same day.

To cut a short story even shorter the driver of the car that hit mine ended up having to pay all the repair costs on my car.
He also had a big legal bill because he claimed at first not to have hit my car!
His insurance company must love him! What cost his NCB now?

My NCB was not affected then and I still have it now.

This time of year is a sod of a time for it to happen but your NCB should be fine.
If you've got good insurance the company you use should realise the situation and help you sue the crap out of the idiot who did that to your car!

Guy.

PS. I am reliably informed that taxis take people to the shops.

I hope they are good seeing as they are advertising on the forum.

I never really understood taxi's...the whole idea of paying for someone to drive you around is fickle....they should do it for free :)

yer u get load of problems with wheel damage just go with the insurance side save u a major headache. Could be anything wrong with it, know my mum years ago went into a sign on a roundabout and took her 6 garage trips to get it sorted over a year before it was properly right alignment kept going out etc, and no it wasnt a bad crash she just skided was more damage to the door than the wheels but pays to be on the safe side n get it sorted properly with insurance even if it might effect u.
